'If It's Football, It's Vital'

We Got Adebayor La La La La La

Arsene Wenger says that Manu Adebayor will return to the squad to face Blackburn on Saturday.

The Togo striker hasn't played since Boxing Day when Arsenal beat Watford 2-1 away.

Gunners fans were gutted after the dancing (you've seen that third eye on Soccer AM) hitman (there's a new nickname for him!) had found some form after scoring some important goals for the Gunners.

Luckily for Arsenal Van Persie found some form, Henry returned and Baptista well and truly annonced his arrival in English football with 4 goals against Liverpool.

Having so many in form strikers is excellent but it does give Arsene Wenger something of a selection problem, albeit a good problem.

Speaking to Arsenal.com ahead of Saturday's game Wenger said: 'Gallas was close to coming back but he had a little setback again.

'I don't think we will see Gallas for another two or three weeks.

'Adebayor is back available again but Emmanuel Eboue is still not completely fit for Saturday.

'We still have Ljungberg out, Gallas out, Eboue out, but everybody else is alright.'

Wenger also confirmed that Lauren is back in training after suffering from a minor toe injury.

'He looks better, yes, but I think he will be a bit short for Blackburn because he only rejoins normal training on Friday,' said Wenger.

wtf, gallas out for another two three weeks, that means he will be out for another month, what is going on with him? is it some serious long term injury? wenger had said he is back in training, and now he is saying another two three weeks..
luckys_10
He wants to move to Italy this summer and is "negotiating"! :)
Westl
Bet he wishes he was drawing with Wycombe!

Gallas says that if he isn't allowed to leave Arsenal in the summer then he will start scoring own goals. Arsenal have reacted by taking number 10 off him and giving him number 3. Arsenal are demanding that they get a mobile phone-loving, money grabbing, nasty little boy as his replacment.

Losing Gallas would leave Arsenal with a massive hole to fill but if we get Cole back I hear he is good at filling holes!

I'm not sure if I should be cringing or laughing at that comment Iceman. In all seriousness.... losing Gallas for anohter 2 or 3 weeks is a massive loss, espically considering we have United in just over a week! Arsenal players don't do minor injuries do they? If they're out then they're out for aaagggessss! Gallas was supposed to return against chelsea a month ago!

this injury to gallas is mysterious to say the least, westl, he wont be going to a declining serie a anytime soon, i really wanted him available for the united game though.

well id just like to echo the sentiment of this article, in that there is a good problem in selection upfront. so much of a problem, that everyone commenting on this article has chosen to focus on billy, and seem to have forgotten that its good to have manu back :). jokes apart, how serious is this injury to gallas? does anyone know?

Some times these injuries are like this. I remember something very similar happening to Bergkamp about seven years ago. The problem is when you injure fibres in the muscle, you can feel as right as rain until you you test them again and they tear again. I had a similar injury myself back before the smoking took hold and I could run without feinting. I felt absolutely great in the opening minutes of a gmae, then I took a penalty and collapsed in agony when I struck the ball (still scored though!) :-)

wenger rarely goes into detail about what the injury is, how it happened etc.. we are lucky that he commented on the length of time out since he doesn't always do that unless directly asked.

Yes. The constant change of goal posts about Billy's situation is a little hard to fathom. We'd have loved to see him back for the game against Manu.

good to see the big man back in action tonight, i hope he marks his return with a hat trick !
