Tottenham Who?

Tottenham Who?

Yesterday Cesc Fabregas said he 'enjoyed the feeling' of playing against Spurs, today he says he isn't even thinking about them anymore.

The young Spainard had Zokora and Tom 'the hulk' Huddlestone nicely buttoned up in his top pocket in the carling cup semi at WHL on Wednesday. But in true studish style he now has his sights set on his next conquest - Bolton.

"It is not important to talk about the Tottenham game until Monday," he said. "Sunday is a big game and we only want to think about Bolton now.

"I think 2-2 was a good result at White Hart Lane and if we draw 0-0 or 1-1 at home it is good.

The maestro did tell us all what we already knew - that Arsenal will go for the throat next week: 'But we are not going for that. We want to win the game. We are Arsenal, a big club, and always have to think about winning the game.

"But we want to go to the Semi-Final of the FA Cup as well. We want to win things and you have to go step-by-step.

"The FA Cup is famous. I was lucky enough to win it two years ago and we want to win it again.

'I feel we are capable of doing it if we keep showing this spirit and commitment in the team.

"Bolton are a good team and will be dangerous," Fabregas went on. "It is different playing them at home compared to away.

'But you have to go in with the same commitment and quality. If we can do what we have done in the last week then we can beat them.'

I didn't realise he was in the squad that won the FA Cup 2 years ago. He was 17 and won the oldest cup competition in the world, 1 year after joining us from the Barca kid reserves... No wonder he signed an 8 year contract with us. I am slightly concerned about burn-out for him though. There alot of games coming up and he can't play in them all. I'd rather he doesn't play against Sp*rs on Wednesday and rests for the upcoming PL CL and FAC matches than risk injury in a meaningless competition - even if it does mean losing out on the chance for a final against Chelski. He's simply too valuable for us to risk losing. Alex Song could play there, he's away on African Youth Cup duties for Cameroon, but they have lost both their games to Egypt and Zambia so have no chance of qualifying for the later stages of the competition. Thus he could be back training with us on Monday and play on Wed with either Denilson or Diaby - or both. Cesc then get's his rest!!

I doubt Cesc will play the second leg. Gilberto will be back from suspension and will definitely play. I've also got a feeling that Gallas and Freddie will play next week.

He definitely wasn't anonymous, it's just his second half was that much more impressive, often the case with Cesc. His young legs give him a bit of an edge. He still had more possession and covered more ground in the first half than Huddlestone and Zokora put together (fact).
