Wenger Bale's On Gareth

Arsene Wenger has ruled out a big money bid for The Saints highly rated left back

Arsenal have been widely tipped to sign the excellent Welsh wonderkid, more so after hearing of his friendship with Theo Walcott and his apparent fondness of Arsenal as a club.

However, the Arsenal gaffer maintains, and always will, an unwaivering belief in his young gooners, and says Clichy & Troare are more than enough for him.

'I think Bale is a potentially great player but I am not in the race because I have two left backs,' said the Arsenal manager. 'But the club who gets him will have a good deal - an expensive one but a good player.'

'I have looked at Bale a lot. We have been looking at him because if he comes up for a normal price it's OK but we have already spent a lot for Theo Walcott. [If we bought Bale too] we would be the biggest sponsors of Southampton.'

we dun need to buy him at that price. we already have clichy and traore at left back, and gallas can play there too, so we are well covered in that position..

10 mil for the kid. I'm sure he's a great prospect, and that a) saints are trying to safeguard their asset, and b) maximise the eventual transfer fee for the player. But while we have clichy who looks likely to mature into cole mkII without the 'assley' side , and traore, who is still a trifle raw, but with enormous potential, why exhaust 10m of the club's budget on a third left back? another example of why Arsene is reticent to plunge into the british transfer market. Overinflated and unrealistic - this is not a derogatory comment on Bale, he does not set his transfer fee, but 5m would be a more realistic fee. I for one am pleased with Arsene's wheeling and dealing in landing clichy from his status at a semi-pro club in france (3rd tier), for next to nothing, and traore from monaco. »»Arsene Knows««

ya true. i never believed that arsene was serious abt signing bale. way too expensive. left back is one position we dont need cover or now.

If Clichy had suffered another serious injury this season I think Wenger might've taken the plunge. But as it stands it just doesn't make good sense to buy him at the numbers they're talking about, though I don't blame Southhampton at all for setting such a high price. I'm not convinced Bale's gonna leave anyway, at least not in this window.

haha @ the biggest sponsers of southampton. i think traore is as good a prospect as bale is, over the liverpool and psud games i was very impressed with him.

PG Traore was looking shaky in the game against spuds so i think we all might regret if we dont get him

i mean G.Bale

traore was the youngest player on the pitch last week,he had a tough time against lennon, but i think a lot of players will have a hard time against him,but traore is strong, has bags of pace, and a good touch, and is calm on the ball,so he will only get better defensively, one for the future definately
