Wenger Could 'Panic Buy'

Wenger Could 'Panic Buy'

Arsene Wenger has admitted that he may have to dip into the Arsenal transfer kitty as the queue for the treatment table grows ever longer.

Julio Baptista is the latest player to suffer an injury, after he suffered a groin injury in the 1-1 draw with Bolton.

The list now stands at an astonishing
EIGHT players. William Gallas, Robin Van Persie, Freddie Ljungberg, Alex Hleb, Johan Djourou and Manu Eboue are the others.

The extent of Baptista`s injury is not yet known but Wenger is preparing for the worst and looking at the possibility of bringing in a player (or more than one).

After the draw with 'The Orcs` Wenger was asked if he could be tempted into the transfer market.

Le Boss replied with: 'That's a good question but I cannot give you an answer. I don't think so.

'We have lost Van Persie and now we will see what Baptista has.

'At the moment for us it is important not to lose too many players.

'First of all you want your good players to be with you and we have important games coming up.

'If we continue to lose players I will have to choose what we go for.

'We will check Baptista now, he has a groin problem, but we hope it's not too bad and he can play on Wednesday.'

It's good to see that he's prepared to buy. But who will he go for??? At this late stage in the window is he gonna go for an aged old codger of a striker that's gonna retire at the end of the season or an unproven 12 year old from the murky depths of the Slovakian league? Personally I'd get DB10, pump him up with steroids (legal ones, obviously) and unleash him!!!

He might recall Bendtner or Lupoli to help us in attack? depends how long Hleb and RVP are out for? although Eboue can do a job on the right wing as he showed against the spuds last week. Is it me or does Hoyte look like a future England right back!

Bendtners still recovering from injury himself isnt he? I think if anyone it'd have to be Babel, sounds like their might be some truth to that rumour as his denial was one of the more weak i've heard, he actually used the word 'excuse' not reason when talking of coming to Arsenal while Ajax had a team function to see his mate RVP. Maybe it was planned for the summer but now he'll try earlier out of neccesity. Or we could go with little dutch, front or on the wing, sound like similar players. From the Cruyf and Van Basten school of total football are we?

Looks like le boss has started his spending already with French striker Sunu.. it was first thought he was heading to the Mancs. EXCLUSIVE! Chateauroux have confirmed that they have reached an agreement with Arsenal over exciting youngster Gilles Sunu.

I did mean to mention Larsson in my last post. I'd've taken him for a few months. But things like that come along once in a long time. The obvious problem we have is that we've got an incredibly talented front line when everyone's fit. Surely buying someone in would mean the end of Bendtner. We already have too many!!!

Some other french youngins on his way to, from strasbourg, U-18 international or something but our teams young enuf, i dont think these were the 'panic buys' he was talking about that means a bit of experience so that have to be at least 17 by Wengers standards
