Gooners: The Loyalist Supporters

Arsenal fans are proving themselves to amongst to most loyal football supporters around after selling out yet another game.

We all know that it is practically impossible to get a ticket to a Premiership or Champions League game unless you are a fully paid up member of The Arsenal, however, recently, non-official gooner members were given the opportunity to attend The Grove for a Carling Cup match against Newcastle United.

It's safe to say they didn't waste that opportunity.

After going on general sale, the game is now a complete sell out with still 5 days to go before the macth.

In a time when stadiums sit half empty for Premiership, and sometimes even Champions League **sly dig** matches, this is a truly remarkable feat.

Most clubs have difficulty selling tickets for Carling cup games in your average 30,000 seaters, so to sell 60,000 tickets for a week night Carling Cup in game which we won't see too many of our superstars is testament to the amazing support our club recieves.

Give yourselves a pat on the back.

Surely you mean 'Most Loyal'?

oh rocky you sly devil you, i did notice that the tiny totties had a whopping 35,000 for their little europ cup compo last night, but then who can blame them, Europe doesn't come down the lane that often ! more seriously, Arsenal slashed their prices and you could of had a ticket for next week's cup clash from as little a £10. now thats the way to do it, and I would think many families with kids will attend, which is a clever way of getting locked into arsenal, the next generation of supporters. The arsenal board have yet again shown the rest of the country how to do things properly.

no superstars? eduardo, bendtner, fabianski, traore and big phil to start, perhaps denilson and diaby to, and gilbs on the bench.......AND mocking fat sam......THATS ENTERTAINMENT

whats your point exactly plasticspam, who do you support? im ean if ur trying to say arensal dont have any superstars you obviosly dont know anything about football. what you have done is list not a single first teamer, and imo eduardo, fabianski, traore, denilson and diaby (not senderos) ahve thew ability to become superstars. you could do the same for any team, just list reserves/bench players in a desperate attempt to mock a club. pathetic.

savour that arsenal fans, its not often i defend your club!

ps - and bendtner, i forgot him

Puregold, sad that you feel the need to criticise. As WHL currently holds 36,240 and taking into account segregation, the crowd of 35,780 was capacity. WHEN we expand to 50,000-60,000 and fail to get capacity or have to almost give away tickets to get people in, then feel free to have a go. As the competition is now a more difficult version of the only Euro trophy you have won, often featuring teams that dump you out of the CL, you would be wise to be less dismissive. This year the competition contains teams who have won the CL or equivalent a total of 7 times as recently as 2001, so feel free to criticise when you win the CL rather than get kicked out by the likes of PSV

united4life, thanks 4 protecting the honour of my club.......I'm saying the players i mentioned are all internationals (excluding traore). and we get to see them 4 £10. Unlike united who are making there season ticket holders go to games. but i don't know nuffink about football, but i do know your on the wrong board, so......SCREW U

fran merida
I said that ... its an updated version of the only euro trophy you've won ..I was talking level, not number. Its now a combined UEFA/cup winners cup which I said you'd won. ??
Gromit
Sevilla back to back winners of the UEFA cup have just been given a hiding by us in the Champions league so forgive us if we dont give the competition any sort of credibility.
