Adebayor: Me And Rob Are Rockin'

Manu Adebayor has spoken of the excellent understanding he shares with his Arsenal strike partner Robin Van Persie.

Many had predicted that Arsenal would struggle to find goals this season after selling the record breaking Theirry Henry to Barcelona in the summer.

That hasn't been the case at all. Arsenal lead the Premiership goal scoring charts with 19 goals in 8 games, as well as 4 goals in two Champions League games.

Adebayor has bagged himself six league goals already this season, just two short of his total tally last season. While Robin Van Persie has scored 7 goals in 11 games.

'The understanding between us is magnificent. That is what is giving us strength at the moment.

Not bad for a team in decline eh?

Speaking to Arsenal.com Adebayor said: 'He likes to have the ball at his feet more than I do. He likes to get off the front line and he has the technical skills to do that.

'I am tall, I can climb high and I can go deep. I am more of a pivot for the team.

'At the training ground in the 10 v 10 games and the 8 v 8s we are always on the same team.

'Automatically he tells me where he wants the ball to go and I'll tell him where I want it to go.'

I think Le Boss should put Ade on more shooting drill from the 6 yard

Ade and Robin are rocking at the moment, but i want Eduardo to fire all cyclinders too if we are to really challenge for the two big prizes this season. hopefully Bendtner will also get a proper chance to prove himself..
luckys_10
i think bendtner will only get his chances in the carling cup and the fa cup i cant see him getting many matches in the league or the champions league
muffdaddy1983
i hope he quits his national team

Ade and Rob are playing better together than I was expecting at this point in the season. Before this year they had played very little together, so it is a fantastic achievment on their part that they have devolped an understanding like they have. I'd like to see Bendtner and Eduardo play a few games together, something tells me they'd play well together too. The only problem I have is that with those 4 strikers, where is Theo going to get a run up front? He's so much better when he plays through the middle. Time will tell I suppose...

These 2 looked very good in pre-season, and I was a little apprehensive that given Ade's injury at the start of the season, all that good work may have been wasted. No such worries. The top 2 goal scorers in the League play for the Arsenal !!

love all the noises coming from the team, the spirit and togetherness is visible both on and off the pitch... Le Prof has some kind of footballing Zen thing going on with the lads...chuffed as anything for Ade and RvP who both richly deserve the spoils of their hard work...

Did u see the understanding between theo and RvP? Was it better than RvP-Adi combination?
questforavalon
i've said it before, this partnership will result in the top 2 strikers in the league. rvp for golden boot. fabs to lead in assists. would be nice to get eduardo and bendtner in the thick of things as well. walcott as i see it will be groomed as a creative midfielder.

henry's presence stifled this sort of thing last year. this is our true strength, the unity in the squad.
afri-gooner
There partnership can only get better and that makes me very exited :)

Adebayor has really improved this season, becoming a legit target man...able to win any ball in the air and lay it off or hold the ball waiting for help to arrive. That he's also displayed some technical flair with his goals makes him an extremely well rounded forward. Great to see him and Persie playing so well together...long may it continue.
