Henry Wants Final Arsenal Farewell

Henry Wants Final Arsenal Farewell

Thierry Henry says he intends to return To The Emirates Stadium...But only so he has a chance to do what he didn't get to do before he moved to Barcelona in the summer - say goodbye to his fans.

There was anger amongst some Arsenal fans towards Henry over the way he left Arsenal, because he had said he was totally commited to the club just a couple of months before his move.

But now the former captain intends to return to London in order to do just that. However, he intends it to be a low-key affair, as he doesn't want to cause any distraction from the team.

'I think I will try and do it in December because we have a winter break in Spain and I will have the time,' Henry told the London Evening Standard.

'I would rather go back in a non-playing situation and be able to enjoy it. I don't want to get drawn against Arsenal in the Champions League this season. That would not be a proper way to say goodbye to the fans.

'When I go, I will probably just sit in the stands. I won't walk out on the pitch or anything like that.

'The focus should be on the team and I don't want to draw any attention away from them and what they're doing. They will be playing a game and I want to respect that.'

Still can't help thinking Henry is determined to hog the limelight. He should concentrate on Spain and let our lads get on with the job. Great player but his time is over.
