Nickers Sniffing For Arse Action

Arsenal's young Danish striker Nicklas Bendtner has said he'll have no option but to look for another club if he cannot break into the Arsenal team, a report on SkySports, erm, reports.

Bendtner, already capped at full level by Denmark, finds his way to the promised land currently blocked by the likes of the double barreled shotguns of Adebayor and van Persie, and vies with Eduardo to replace one of the two of them in the starting line-up.

Bendtner, speaking to Danish newspaper BT, accepts he may have to wait a while, but also says that

It's obvious that I don't want to sit on the bench for two years.

There might be problems with my form in a few months, but I might also get more playing time.

I will stay at Arsenal to fight for my chance and in case it doesn't work, I will join a different club permanently.

Denmark manager Morten Olsen chipped in with his two-penneth-worth about the situation, saying the young striker should get more playing time soon.

Great headline but this kids attitude worries me. I get his point about wanting to play and believe he will be very good, but he goes about it the wrong way. Its Bentley-esque demanding game time through the press and using threats to try and get what you want. Besides, if he doesnt want to wait he's options are a second rate club like Spurs or the Hammers in England or a better European club where he will have the same problem. He was talking about interest form Inter and AC for *****s sake, and he thinks he's far down the order here? Try waiting behind Ronaldo and Inzaghi in a one striker system or Ibrahimovic, Cruz, Adriano, Recoba, Suazo and who evr else is there.

Man i hope he stays but i think he has too much ambition...and maybe too much confidence in his ability.

AC Milan still has Gilardino, and they'll be getting Alexandre Pato as well, so I don't see how his chances will improve.

I want him to start a couple of games for us. He was capped for Dennmark even when he was playing for Birmingham last season. That means he's got the quality. Maybe he'll work out well with Dudu up front.

every player thinks like that, it's not like they have 40 year careers on the pitch. He's got ambition, good...

Bendtner deserves to play more often he has done very well in all his appearances so far unlike a certain player who gets minutes every week(Walcott). Frank Arnesen described him as the best player to come out of Denmark in a very long time so it would be a real shame to lose him. He has said nothing wrong in this interview he just wants to play.

I have this feeling that Bendtner is gonne be one of these ones that won't have the patience to stick around. He should get a good run of games though, in the Carling Cup, probably in the FA Cup (which I think Wenger might de-prioritise this year), and especially when Adebayor is on the African Nations Cup. I am looking forward to seeing the boy Carlos Vela in action next season though.

Love the headline Wingers. As far as Bendtner goes (if the interview is true) he is saying he will wait for a year or so. He is a cocky sod and although I don't especially like it, I have to admit that there's nothing wrong with it. We can't always have everyone being nice and compliant all the time, so if he creates a bit of tension it's fine by me. When he gets his chance in the Carling cup it's up to him to impress. With only 4 strikers he should know he'll get some action at least. If Ade goes to the ACN and we get one injury, he'll even get a starting position. I really want to see what he can do for us and I'm sure Arsene wants to find out this year too.

He's got ambition, that's fine. But when you talk to the media saying how he deserves to play, that isn't right. He does not deserve to play right now simply because the leagues two best strikers are from Arsenal. If he has the patience I'm sure he'll play well.

and if you read the quotes, in context, he says he will stay to fight for his place, then if that doesnt work, he will go. And if he doesnt break through and get games, then that is because Arsene deems him not deserving of a place... »»Arsene Knows««

Aye Andy - he doesnt even consider the Spuds to be a decent team now !! One of his quotes on the front page, when discussing the challenges that lie ahead for Arsenal was - 'You've not played a decent team yet', tacitly acknowledging that the Spuds are not a decent team, let alone one challenging for the CL :).
