Barca Interest Is Just A Compliment

Barca Interest Is Just A Compliment

'Neither the player nor I have considered the news, really, and all we're thinking about is the match against Denmark. What will be, will be.'

'But if we do hear of an offer from Barcelona, the club that taught him so much, then that would be a real compliment to Cesc.'

Those were the words of Cesc Fabregas' agent to Marca when he was asked about any potential interest in his client from Barca.

So, why is it that today, I sit at my computer and read headlines that claim Diaz is touting for a move to Barca? Or that Barca have made an offer for the player?

The answer is simple - sensationalism over journalism.

Rather than the media just report a story as it is, they twist and turn it to suit them so they may grab headlines, get more hits and cause a stir.

Don't buy into it Gooners, don't buy into it.

Diaz is far from coy in his comments, he is clear that Cesc hasn't even considered the possibility of moving back to Barca.

He confirmed that any interest from Barca would be a compliment to Cesc. So? That doesn't mean a thing.

I'm Arsenal through and through, but if I played for Arsenal and heard Barca were interested in me, I'd take it as a compliment. But I'd never leave Arsenal.

I'm sure you'd all feel the same.

If Barca want him they will get him! just look at Henry he went running when a big club knocked on the door. Fabregas has always dreamt of playing for the catalan giants, So be woriied very worried your linch pin wiil follow the likes of Veira, Henry, Edu.........

if that happens they'll just get another spud player...

Christ not this $hit again? and cockeril what're you crowing about? Is there a new Sp*rs dawn? lol nope, far as I can see it's the middle of the stormy night for you lot.

Fabregas himself has said he would love to eventually play for Barca...but he's also said it won't be for years yet. I reckon Cesc will stay here at another six to eight years , by which time we'll hopefully have won at least a couple of titles along with other pieces of silverware, before joining the team he and his whole family has supported for years. I don't think any Gooner will have a problem with that...particularly with Fran Merida being ranked even higher than Cesc was at the same tender age. There isn't any room for Cesc to play in Barca's midfield anyway, unless they sell a couple players or throw them to the bench (Cesc isn't gonna turn himself into a part timer at 20). So yeah, it's is non story...but during international breaks, that's what you're going to see.

K_Chavski just like were going to take Mourinhio!

Good for you, I do remember him saying that he would like to manage a small british club in the future (true story). No wonder the Mourinho-spud rumours.

simmo - other sites are reporting the following: "If we received an offer from Barcelona clearly we would listen to it " which is what is prompting the speculation, I suppose. I couldnt be bothered, frankly. Arsenal FC is in good hands, and those hands belong to Arsene Wenger.
12/10/2007 14:56:00
can't they just give us a break here! ffs, can't they just shut the **** up and stop acting like the ****s that they are? The season just started and they at it again. Merida, Fabregas... Cesc's agent isn't doing a good job in quieting down the situation either! Can't they fiddle with their own problems and midfield everyday: a crisis with Ronaldinho, plus a midfield of Iniesta, Xavi, Toure, Deco, Marquez... I have developed a serious dislike for the blaugrana.
12/10/2007 15:25:00
This whole speculation has been kicked off by the Spanish paper Marca apparently having fallen out with Real. Neither Cesc or his agent have heard anything from Barca and are unlikely to but his 'denial' is in typical agent speak - designed to ensure that his client is not taken for granted. Good thing is though that we can live without Cesc if we wanted to - it's not really that big a deal. Spuds might think it is but we have options enough if we decided we didn't need him any more.
12/10/2007 15:49:00
If Cesc goes, as hugely disappointing as it would be, we have Denilson, Merida and probably some other gems following behind. I think by the time Wenger leaves, Fabregas will be emotionally attached to Arsenal and will probably spend his best years here.
