Ade To Stay At Arsenal During ACN

Emmanuel Adebayor will be available for Arsenal all through the time of the African Nations Cup, as the Togolese tonight failed to qualify for the finals of the tournament, with Mali beating Togo 2-0.

Goals from Freddie Kanoute and Mamadou Diallo ensured the Squirrels took the place of the Sparrow Hawks, all of which means that we will be enjoying a full quota of strikers all during the duration of the ACN.

Sad news for Ade, who I am sure was looking forward immensely to representing his country in the finals, but good news for Arsenal, as he's been a towering presence and an absolute monster up front for us this season.

The ACN's loss is our gain, Ade, so show them all what they're missing!

well, its bad to gloat over an entire nations' loss, but hey! look on the bright side, we cans still dance in england!
korodon
you have to have winners and losers in sport! This increases the chance of Arsenal being winners this season. Yay!!!
afri-gooner
good news but feeling sorry for Ade
afghenry
I never liked national matches, esp. those happening during the season but I have to feel sorry for Ade on this one.
stukazufuss
Bendtner won't have been happy to hear the news!
Amos.
not good news. For Bendtner that is.
G4L
so it'll only be toure who will be missed then..we shud be allrite then, as gallas is back to fitness and hopefully he stays fit, senderos is lookin a little more confident nowadays as well.. yeah, bendtner may be unhappy, but he'll still be startin the carling cup and maybe the fa cup as well provided we last till jan in those cups
McGooner
YES!!....i mean bad luck for Ade...and Bendtner :P
AB_Arsenal
Improves our title chaces I'd say!! Great news.

well, we'll definitely last tiil january in the FA cup, McGooner, as the third round doesn't take place til then ;) »»Arsene Knows««

lol Wingston. Since Song will probably be heading to the ACN with Cameroon, that leaves us with Gallas, Senderos and probably Gilberto at CB. Hoyte and Sagna could maybe fill in, even Nordtveit but that is too risky considering the fact that we have trips to Pompey and Everton in late Dec and only Fulham away in January (so far). An injury or a ban to any of them could leave us a bit thin at the back. All a guessing game at the moment but being prepared to answer all possible (bad) situations is a must this season.
G4L
G4L, don't forget that Djourou will be returning from his loan spell at Birmingham in January, if Le Gaffer decides against extending it...

Wingston75
Wingston, I feel that Le Boss will look to extend Johan's loan at Brum - and work his way this season without him - something he's previously done with Hoyte and Cashley. Unless, of course, there is an injury 'crisis'.
G4L
Btw, just read a post from a Danish Gooner on another Arsenal blog, that Bendtner's statement was AGAIN blown out of proportion by the English media (a.k.a. the t*ats).
G4L
are u guys absolutely sure cote d'ivoire qualified........u kno the way ths season has been goin i wouldnt be surprised if cote d'ivoire manage to Not qualify in the last minute bcuz Drogba and zokora combined to give their opponents a penalty and got sent off!!!
karley
I feel bad for Ade and Togo, coz I know the ANC involves a lot of pride and passion for those nations. But this is good for Arsenal, maybe not so for Bendtner. I think we can cope without Toure, Eboue and Song. As long as we get Djourou back (I think Wenger WILL call him back as he was reluctant to send him out on loan in the 1st place), we should be fine.
prits
can't care too much for Togo. we need all our best players
fcdematthew
Your best failed to deliver, yet heŽs good enough for you lot? Just wait and see, youŽll slip soon.
Blue is the colour
And when we do Avram will pounce eh? lol without Drogba you're a nothing team and you have to face the majority of January without him. Enjoy your UEFA spot scrap this year Blue.
nikolaijns
BITC, you're already slipping, from the looks of it. You're starting to sound like a bitter spud :).
prits
best scenario, drogba gets injured in the 3rd/4th placing game and out for 3 months. hahaha..
fcdematthew
Karley im positive Ivory Coast made it. Heres a link to the qualified teams. http://www.cafonline50.com/?lng=1&cmpt=0&module=media&idrub=94932&idnews=82182 They finished first in their group.
gunnerkid107
Blue is the colour, it takes more than one player to win matches. Name another player on the Togo team - they're nobody's, and Togo was never a force until Ade burst on the scene. And he didn't play too many qualifiers because of pay issues. In any case, it's stupid reasoning: Many of your players are still struggling for qualification for the EC with their countries, does that make them crap players?
afri-gooner
Not just the fact that Adebayor's staying with us during ACN, but also Eduardo's banging in goals consistently for Croatia. Time for Bendtner to learn the virtue of patience.
