Arsenal Starlet Signs New Deal

On a day when Arsenal lost both Big Phill Senderos and Robin Van Persie to injury, some fantastic news came in the form of confirmation that Denilson has signed a new deal.

No detials of the contract were released, it was just confirmed that the deal was 'long-term.'

'I am pleased, very pleased.

'Denilson is a great player. For me, he is underrated. He does not get all the praise his performances suggest but that will come very quickly.

'He is the youngest player of our squad along with Armand Traore.'

The Arsenal manager also had praise for the Samba Starlet: 'He has played big games but he has shown he can cope with the pressure and produce quality performances. I expect him to make a big impact.'

The enthusiasm about the lad in Wenger's comments is exciting it's self. It's not often Wenger picks out an individual for praise in that way.

I look forward to seeing more from Denilson this season.

It is very good news that we have signed him to a longer term contract. He is going to be something special. A few months ago LD wrote a really good piece about the strengths and potential of this fellow marking him out as the 'real deal'.
Amos.
Awesome news. When you see these guiys playing so well, you sometimes forget that they are so young, don't you. A long term contract will offset the Chelskis, Barcas and Reals of the world trying to poach him.

You would think but thats the opposite. Cesc signed a 8 year contract last year but every week he seems to be on his way to Spain in the tabloids. Big names will be knocking on the door for this kid very soon.

Great news....can't wait to see him get a couple of games.

Maybe against Bolton???

Good news, part of the club's strategy to tie the players down to contracts. We are fortunate to have 2 fantastic creative mid-fielders.

another week of good PR coming out of Arsenal, not only are slick on the pitch but our well oiled PR machine is doing well off it.

I hope this is an 8 year contract, like Cesc's. It means we won't need to buy midfielders for a good few years.

i think we are right for LB in clichy and traore, and right for CM in fabs and den. such great cover and all so young, means we will enjoy their contributions for long time yet.

This is great news, this kid is a fantastic player who just oozes class and maturity. He doesn't mind putting his foot in either, the future of our engine room looks secure for the next decade. Dare I say it? But if he keeps up his current form, Flamini should be in line for a new contract as well.

World-Class Player ! his only problem that fab is in front of him in the line !
