Did United 'Tap Up' Adebayor?
This question has to be asked 'Did Man United tap up Adebayor?' after Arsene Wenger admitted he had had no contact with anyone from the Salford Reds regarding the Togo striker.
Earlier this week Emmanuel Adebayor was adamant that Fergusson and his cronies had come calling in the close season, but Manu opted for a new contract with the Gunners, yet Wenger knows nothing of this contact.
When asked about Adebayor's claims Le boss stated 'I would first like to check that it's true,'
'If it's not Adebayor, I think it's his agent. He had a contract at that time as well, anyway, and I have never been approached by Manchester United.
'He has extended his contract here since then.'
So either Manu has been telling a couple of porkies or it seems United have been playing Chelsea's game.

The problem is that there aren't any rules prevent agents from discussing potential transfer as long as the player isn't directly involved. You would hope that instead of frigging around with foreign player quotas and tinkering with the format of the CL that FIFA might actually look into this and do something useful for the game.

Manc U would have been after him as that is the type of striker they are looking at and need! Adebayor is top quality and tore Manc U apart at Old Trafford last season!

Rocky, let me explain it to you. What may appear to be a tapping up case done by Chelsea, is in fact, Chelsea showing the youth of today (and future club shareholders/owners/directors) that you get caught doing ilegall/uncool stuff. Chelsea sacrificed itself, and it's jollie imagine, to make a point to the world.Unfortunaly, we were saddenly misunderstood... >_<

Interesting point Kev... they obviously don't do Chavs in Brazil, otherwise you would know that a Chav is typically adorned with cheap, chunky gold jewellery and big designer labels - so they are pretentious and shiny on the outside, but highly unattractive on the inside... hmmm... sounds like a football club I know ;-)

Well, I think its Ade's agent upto the usual agent tricks. But with Cesc earlier, we heard contradictory reports. Cesc said he spoke to Madrid, Wenger denied giving him the permission to do so. So I'm not sure about this one.
