Fab Four Hlebt Tou-rest At Tom

(or Fab four left to rest at home)

Arsene Wenger has Cesc Fabregas, Alex Hleb, Kolo Toure and Tomas Rosicky will not travel with the rest of the squad to Prague.

The four, all in action at the weekend, have been left behind to rest, as the Gunners look to give other members of the squad an opportunity to play.

This raised the prospect of seeing Denilson starting a game in place of Cesc in midfield, with either Eduardo or Theo starting up front, with the other taking responsibility for the left wing.

As for Kolo's central midfield berth, has Philippe Senderos left the land of the lame, or could we see one of Alex Song, Gilberto or Justin Hoyte assume defensive duties against Slavia?

I reckon we'll see Almunia, Sagna, Bert, Gallas, Clichy, Eboue, Flamini, Denilson, Eduardo, Ade & Theo!!!

Tommy guns aint being rested though it's a hamstring prob, any chance we could get a padded bodysuit knocked up for him to play in? or a giant hamster ball or summit? class player for sure but the physio must be sick of the sight of him by now.

i think with the international break coming, Tommy should get a good three week rest and get rid of all these small niggling injuries. he is a class act, and we need him to be at his best if we are to win the league and the cl this term. i love the lad and hope he'll be fit and back to his best soon..
luckys_10
It's a bit of a risk, but there are plenty of players who have been itching for a chance to prove themselves, the likes of Gilberto, Diarra etc should see this as a real chance.
Little Dutch
would like to see bendtner and hoyte too
49ers
and i hope Arsene plays Bert in the midfield and not at the back, Hoyte can play rightback and Arsene can play Sagna in the centre..
luckys_10
I like Rocky's team except I think we'll use Diaby on the left instead of Eduardo.
super_gooner
With qualification almost sewn up its probably a good idea to give a few a rest.

Hopefully we will play: Almunia; Sagna, Gallas, Gilberto, Clichy; Walcott, Diarra, Denilson, Diaby; Eduardo, Adebayor
Goofle
You know I am right, Eboue doesn't need to play, neither does Song. I would even go as far to say that Bendtner should play and Traore. We are through.
Goofle
Almunia; Sagna, Gilberto, Gallas, Clichy; Eboue, Diarra, Denilson, Walcott; Eduardo and Ade please. Or Hoyte at CB, Gilberto in CM, Denilson in bench.
Louisa
If we're through after this game, I think Goofle yeah, Arsene will send out a Carling Cup team in the CL game at home. :D

excellent headline lol

This isnt good news to that Toure has a calf problem and Rosicky with a groin strain. Thomas hasnt been producing on the pitch and he cant stay healthy for one month Really frustrating stuff.

The sensible decision would be to go with Gilberto at the back. Anyone else is untried at this level. If not Song with Gilberto as DM might give enough protection. This isn't a game in which to experiment too much. A win here would put us through and then we can freewheel a little when we need to next month. Sagna, Gilberto, Gallas and Clichy at the back. Eboue, Denilson, Flamini & Diaby midfield with Ade and Eduardo up front would do it for me.
Amos.
it would be really good to keep a clean sheet,i would be very happy with a 1-0

Wenger is shrewd. He will want to see what Diarra can do, give Bert a chance. Fab. Sagna Gallas Song Clichy. Diaby Bert Diarra. Walcott. Nic and Dudu.
themadafrican
Got to be a drwa then. I'll go for 1-1. Cant see it been a repeat of the other week?
will it ever happen
