Flamini In Actim Team Of Week

Mathieu Flamini continued his excellent start to the season for Arsenal after being named in the team of the week in The Actim Index, the official player ratings system of the Barclays Premier League.

The French ace climbed 19 places to 14th overall in the Index with an eye-catching performance and the midfielder scored his first goal of the season to finish with 36 points as Reading were beaten 3-1 at the Madejski Stadium on Monday night.

The 23-year-old has played his way into a regular role for the Gunners, averaging 16 points per game so far this campaign, to help them sit on top of the Premier League and has also made five interceptions and 197 completed passes in the opposition half.

Flamini was the only Gunner in the team of the week and is their fourth-ranked player overall. Cesc Fabregas still tops the Index with 287 points, Emmanuel Adebayor is in seventh (210 points) and Gael Clichy (191) is a place above Flamini in 13th.

Analysis of all Premiership games is taking place throughout the season and the players in the Actim Index Team of the Week are:

Jose Reina, Liverpool
Glen Johnson, Portsmouth
Rio Ferdinand, Manchester United
Danny Higginbotham, Sunderland
Fabio Aurelio, Liverpool
Jermaine Jenas, Tottenham Hotspur
Lee Bowyer, West Ham
Aaron Lennon, Spurs
Mathieu Flamini, Arsenal
Carlton Cole, West Ham
Gabriel Agbonlahor, Aston Villa

The Actim Index is calculated using a unique mathematical formula that rates each player`s contribution be it goals, shots, passes, dribbles, tackles, crosses, saves, clearances, blocks, interceptions, assists, clean sheets, time on the pitch or number of points gained by the team with marks deducted for red and yellow cards.

united4life
i'd like to point out that united themselves havent got a whole contingent of representation up there.. its just team of the week.. what would matter is who makes the team of the season owing to consistent perfromances.. nothing short of deserved for the flamster.. way to go..
go4it_adi
I'm even more surprised that Jar Jar Binks is there....
k_chelski
jenas scored twice, so i guess it inflated his score. chavs drew so likely no one made it.but bowyer is the surprising one.
korodon
I'm also surprised Jenas is there. Last time he played decently before the Wigan match was against Derby.

Dunno how you're gunna make Ben Haim look class when he never plays to get any stats!!

Could it be the category of achieving most points for being selected to be sitting on the bench and not a single minute of game play achieved.
