The Return Of Rockin' Robin?

Could Robin The Deadly Dutchman be preparing to make a timely return to action??

Well if you believe everything the Daily Mirror has to say then it will be as soon as Saturday. The raggedy red top says RvP is fit and has returned to training, and fighting for a place to face Wigan at Ashburton Grove this weekend.

The ever reliable 'physioroom' website has van Persie pegged for a return next week, but footballers are resilient creatures and an early comeback could not be out of the question.

However, and with the greatest respect to Wigan, this is not the sort of game he should be rushing back to participate in. Oh no. If we truly are to be Premiership title contenders, then we should fully hope to get a result against these PL strugglers on a ground where we have only lost one game in all competitions, EVER, whether we have our best striker or not.

Though to see him for the last ten minutes would really brighten up my day.

I agree. A run out towards the end would be great. I'd like to see Eduardo alongside Ade for the start.
we'll need him sharp for a pretty hectic looking december, so a few minutes won't hurt. Hope everybody else comes home alright tomorrow...
If he's fit then play him. The run out will be good for him and a goal an extra boost.
Bring him on as a sub, ease him back into play. Maybe the last 30 mins or so, if we are up by 2 goals by then. No sense in rushing him back, coz we need him fully fit for the games that follow.
2 goals prits???????? And the rest mate.
There is certainly no sense in rushing him back. December will be crazy, about 12 games or something, with games against Chelsea & Spurs thrown in there, we need everyone fit.
the first week of december has 3 away games in a row. we better be sharp! if we are top of the league at the end of dec we should go all the way...
The rest to be scored by 'Rockin Robin', hatespur ;).
I'm long of a ticket for Saturday. Would I be accused of being a tout if I offered it on here for face value??
"Robin The Deadly Dutchman"? Mr. Paul, uhm, you ever heard of this thing called writers' block? Just curious.
No you wouldn't HS, pop into the forum and arrange something in the tickets section!!!!
It was interesting to see that the picture you put up for this headline happened to have eduardo in it.
Now Cesc, Flamini, Diaby and Hleb are out (yes Hleb suffered an injury while they beat Holland and their coach believes he's out for 2 weeks), hopefully with RvP coming back. Given how Walcott and Eduardo (and Bendtner too actually) performed in their international games, could we look at a line-up like this? (Names in brackets are alternatives/subs in those positions.) Almunia; Sagna (Hoyte), Kolo, Gallas, Clichy (Traore); Walcott (Eboue/Rosicky), Denilson (Rosicky), Diarra, Rosicky (Eduardo); RvP (Eduardo/Walcott), Ade (Bendtner)
Damn these internationals! I read that Newcastle is being compensated for the loss of Owen in Sat England game. This should become standard, where at least medical bills and wages are covered for the weeks they spend out after international duty. Remember RvP?
I think he will be used as a sub, its too early for a full game. Also it would be great for eduardo to get a game.
rockin robin? Hmm, not a good nickname.I mean, even with the british accent, which makes it Roooucken Ruben.Still ain' t quite good. How about... the flying dutchman.?
Seems that RvP won't be back for the weekend and will also miss the Seville game according to
***** man Hleb is out for 3 weeks. i just hope he will be back for the Chelsea game. 3 of our first choice midfielders not available for wigan and our number one striker out as well. hope we get all three points this saturday, i just want us to get the result, doesen't matter how we play. lets hope we have our best winter period ever under Wenger..
RvP won’t be back in time, so 6 players are out (see The team would pretty much pick itself then (alternatives/subs in brackets): Almunia (Fabianski) Sagna (Hoyte), Gallas (Song), Toure, Clichy (Traore) Walcott (Eboue), Denilson (Rosicky), Diarra (Song), Rosicky (Eduardo) Eduardo (Walcott), Ade (Bendtner) Should be enough for Wigan. We’re going to Sevilla next Tue. It’s great that we’ve already qualified. The moral is that, in case ***** happens injury-wise at the end of the qualifying stage, we couldn’t leave it late like England did…
He wont play wallcott on the wing when he can use eboue in rm. Wallcott will either play up front with ade or be on the bench till the last 20 minutes. Eboue should play the whole game.
