'If It's Football, It's Vital'

TheO.K.

Arsene Wenger has revealed that Arsenal youngster Theo Walcott is not badly injured following the crunching tackle dished out by Emile Heskey.

Theo was immediately removed from the proceedings after the challenge from the Wigan substitute saw him stretchered off.

"Theo does not look bad. The physio told me he had to come off straight away because he was numb as he had been kicked on the nerve. He twisted his ankle and we checked on a X-ray, and he looks all right," explained Le Boss.

Good news then!!!

gooed news for you, good news for england u21s, good news for england...just not such good news for the rest of the premier league...
pompeycarpet
Good news, luckily that donkey Heskey didn't do any serious damage. Though we shouldn't be too harsh on Heskey, I'm sure in his mind he was going for a clean legal tackle, it's not his fault his brain and body refuse to listen to one another.
Professor Calculus
There was nowt wrong with the tackle, Hesk got the ball fair and square, he just caught young Walcott on the heal and its only a nerve bang. You are a good side but your players dont half over react when they get tackled, youll be asking for a rule change next saying that any side out side the top four cant tackle Arsenal players, I remember when you had a team of cloggers you know ;)
worbo
doggers? we've never employed Collymore worbo lol
nikolaijns
He never got the ball and it was far from clean. And I think the fact that Theo was stretchered off suggests he didn't overreact.
Rocky7
Overreact? You mean like when Heskey plunged into our box last season when he caught the scent of Flamini behind him?
iceman10
Boys against Men, So glad he is ok for a minute I thought he had Snapped the lass in half. I would of thought all those illegal substances in Whingers trophy cabinet he would of injected a bit of beef into him. I bet he is more feminine than his mother no wonder he cannot wait for the Van Rapists return.

First Defoe, now Keane, two Spuds diving for penalties in four days, tut, tut, tut.
Little Dutch
Two things cockeril, first up.... Captain Fragile Ledley King and his balsawood legs, bet he can still run to the bank when pay day comes though huh? second up ....21 points with a game in hand, please have the decency to only come back when you're at least in the top half of the table, get dizzy even trying to look that far down, I can spit and I can't even hear when it hits you on your greasy little berryhead bonce.
nikolaijns
Wasnt ledley in that film....unbreakable?! Mr Glass
iceman10
Bet cockeril still has Darren Anderton posters on his wall as well.
iceman10
Dear Mr Livermore / Ardiles / Perryman / Francis / Gross / Pleat / Graham / Hoddle (yes incredibly the numptys ploughed through 8 mangers in Andertons glittering 12 year sp*rs hiatus) Darren can't come out to play today as he has a very runny bottom.....yours sincerely Darrens' mum.
nikolaijns
Good news. I'm hoping Theo is fit for the Seville game, he should get atleast a sub appearance.
prits
I have a feelin he'll be saved for Villa at the weekend Prits, Wenger'll know Theo will relish getting one up on his U21 team mate Agbonlahor, honestly reckon we'll see a real CC side for Seville. but yeah a sub appearance on Tues could be on the cards.
nikolaijns
Taking about aggression I find it funny Ferguson moaning about Bolton's physicality. Wasn't it the boozy scot who recently said "There's nothing wrong with being aggressive so long as it's the right kind of aggression."
Wyn Mills
Yeah, that's Ferguson aka Red Nose alright. It's good that Walcott's injury isn't serious.
BMF
cockeril, you are tool. You watched the spuddies against Hammers? Looks like spuds chocked when it comes to pressure once again. This is why England shouldn't have spud players, they rub off their chocking tendencies off other players.
BMF
Really hope we can see Eduardo and Bendtner up front, Denilson and Diarra again (their partnership seemed to be improving as the Wigan game went on) in the middle, at Sevilla. Eboue wasn't really impressive on Sat but guess he'll still play. Rosicky will be the midfield leader again at LM then. Don't mind resting Sagna by having Hoyte, Clichy by Traore, really. But we do need Kolo and captain Gallas at the back as it's Sevilla after all.
Louisa
Knock it off fellars this Spud team will be really dangerous, I'm really starting to shake in me boots after reading this. but it was not from fear but bloody laughter. Nearly died from laughing so please don't keep knocking them. alwaysgunner
Very good news he has been playing very well lately and now he can continue his good form into the seville game.
AB_Arsenal
An overreaction was Heskey shoving Gallas for no apparant reason. I wouldn't call his challenge on Theo dirty, but it was incredibly clumsy. Anyway, just glad the kid's ok.
Shinobi
why the hell people pay Heskey to play for them is beyond me....
k_chelski
Talking about clumsy, what about that tackle from Hunt on Fernandes. The press was all over Barton a couple of weeks ago for his tackle, but Hunts was far worse. You wonder what a player has to do to get sent off, you have to ask what worse Essien catching a guy in the face with his hand, or trying to break a guy’s leg. nikolaijns I hope you remain unbeaten till we meet at Emirates, be afraid be very afraid.
Topspur1
You mugs were lucky that Walnut got injured as it was the introduction of Bendtner that changed the game. If bendtner was english he would be starting games in front of walnut and eduardo and possibly even the inconsistant adebayor. I hope he gets fed up playing a bit part role and leaves because long term he is the most dangerous striker on your books.
sport
Are you saying that Arsenal are unfairly favouring English players sport? Whisper it carefully - you'll get us a reputation!
Amos.
No I'm saying that wenger is under alot of pressure to play his 12million english flop and is desperate for the english media to not run with the new quota idea that Blatter is proposing. Bendtner scores regulary for Danish national team has performed really well when given the opportunity by wenger yet still see's himself behind Walnut in the pecking order. Walnuts performances have been woeful apart from the odd burst of p[ace here and there. Lennon at 1million is the far superior player.
sport
Wenger isn't under any pressure at all. If he wants to dump Walcott no one would bat an eye lid. He can do what he wants - sell Henry? - no problem. As for Bendtner he is seen as playing a different role to Walcott - more the Adebayor role. He isn't behind Walcott just used differently that's all but there is no problem with him he'll get plenty of games. As for the one dimensional Lennon, match stats against West Ham = 15 passes 67% accuracy - worst performance of any midfielder on either side - 'nuff said.
Amos.
Amos there is clearly a preference to play walnut and it is not based on performances as he has been useless for 95% of the time. Walnut is keeping two international strikers on the bench, can you please explain why?? I'll give you a clue, its because he cost 12m and is -------. Lennon has already shown that he can perform in the premier league and for england while walnut has not. Lennon would be an improvement on both eboue and walnut down your right wing.
sport
On the one hand we'll get spuds here claiming we didn't give Bentley enough chances because he's English and we also get them posting here because we give Walcott too many becuase he is English. Walcott cost £5m rising to £12m depending on appearances, England caps et cetera so the financial pressure isn't as great as you suggest but even so it doesn't cut any ice in our side. In any case he is 2 years younger than Lennon who wouldn't have a prayer of getting into the Arsenal team. You're indulging in a bit of fantasy there sport. His passing stats are consistently way below the level he would need to get a sniff of playing for us.
Amos.
You still havent gave an alternative motive as to why wenger plays walnut in front of two international strikers when his performances have been shocking to say the least. Wenger is desperate to play an english player to get the media of his back it is the only reason to keep playing an 18year old who looks like a rabbit caught in the headlights every time he plays a premiership game.
sport
Walnut is a poor version of agbonlahor.
sport
sport is back, and talking about Theo - again. Surprise surprise !! Wenger is under no pressure to start Theo, in fact, he has looked good in the past few games. He was involved in a couple of good moves against Wigan. Why is that every discussion with a spud involves whether a spud would get into the Arsenal side? Who cares if Lennon would get into the Arsenal side - apart from you, sport, no one !!
prits
Believe it or not sport the only motive is that Wenger thinks Walcott is gonna be a great player and needs playing time. Eduardo has had just 4 months to adjust to the Premiership and Bendtner plays a different role to Walcott. There is no mystery at all. Your opinion is that his performances are shocking mine is that he is an 18 year old having to get up to speed playing at one of the big 4 clubs in our league. Given the trouble that 30 year old Shevchenko has and the £16m Bent is having at a much lower level I think he is doing ok. In 2 or 3 years time we will begin to judge him but for the present he's fine developing as he is.
Amos.
We can't play Adebayor and Bendnter together, simple. Plus, Bendtner was already stripped on the touchline to come on before Walcott got injured, he was subbed before any stretcher came on so your uninformed opinion cuts little ice here.
Little Dutch
Aghonlahor is 21 and at 18 was nowhere near were Theo is now. Gabby only started making real waves at 20, at 19 he was only very fast with a few good moments. I believe Walcott shines in training. Adebayor, Gallas and I think Cesc have said he looks puregold in training and that he looks like Thierry some times. He offers different qualities to Bendtner and about changing games, how many games has Theo changed for us? He plays because he offers a different quality to all our other strikers: pace. And he has been used as a wide player more than as a striker so comparing him to strikers when he has only played three games for us as a genuine striker is pathetic. If you have nothing bright to say, say nothing sport.
Keplaz
And the game wasn't changed by Bendtner per se. Too many other factors come into it, though Bendy's assist was terrific. Walcott will be dynamite. Anyone who knows football can see that and even now he isn't bad.
Keplaz
sport sport sport...some of you guys are really unbelievable. Firts Wenger gets blamed for not giving english boys a chance to break into the team a la Bentley...now you blame the dude for giving Walcott a chance to improve...what is Wenger to do to cure this madness? Remember Jeffers....and even Pennant/they were time to prove themselves and ventually flopped. If evetually Walcott does not make it, i hope we will all remember---it wass no ones fault.
number14
thanks Topspur I hope we remain unbeaten until the tiddly totts come tippy toeing into the Grove too, Be afraid eh? sure mate, with your fearsome away record this season you'll excuse us if we don't hold our breath though, I do admire your foolhardy folly however, unlike your chicken bothering brethren sport who is definitely a few feathers short of a cockfight.
nikolaijns
"be afraid be very afraid." When hell freezes over, then will be afraid of tiny tots. Even with Ramos, spuds are not playing well when they are on the travel. Ramos must bring in better players when the transfer window opens.
BMF
Bugger, that means no points saturday then boys. Haha, glad for the lad, he's not half bad. (Little bit of Seuss for you all)
