Creative Edge Missing vs Lotto Chavs

Arsenal could be missing missing their vital creative components as they face Chelsea in a massive clash at the Grove on Sunday.

Ever since Alex Hleb was cynically scythed down by John Carew the Gunners seem to be lacking that creative edge, and rather disappointly, it seems both he & Cesc could be missing against the Lotto Chavs.

Wenger broke the bad news by cushioning the blow somewhat by informing us that Robin van Persie, Matty Flamini & Abou Diaby could make the squad for the game.

"The one who has a realistic chance is Flamini, one who could be in the squad is Van Persie. Diaby could be in the squad as well. We don`t know about Cesc and Hleb."

I hope Denilson starts the game. He can provide the creative spark, and hopefully Rosicky will have a better game as well. We are certainly capable of a better performance than the Boro one, with a couple of changes. Gilberto had the better game, than Diarra, and I think he should start against Chelsea. A good opportunity to put in a cracking performance for the whole team, who let everyone down (including themselves) against Boro.

I would like to see Diaby and Denilson start in the middle.

Sorry Prits but I was at the riverside and must of seen a different game to you. Gilberto was awfull! His heart is no longer with the club and I feel will must go in jan!

I agree with vavavoom!! Bert was dreadful, though I agree with Prits that Denilson should start. It wasn't until he came on in the second half that we had any outlets in the middle.

Well, I agree that Gilberto didnt have a good game, but that was a relative comment. Gilberto and Diarra had poor games, but I thought Diarra was poorer.

flamini and diarra did pretty well in the first half against the villains ... albeit that was thanks to hleb .. but perhaps diaby, flamini and diarra in the middle can do well enough i'd hate to see eboue play again after his ridiculous antics at the riverside .. and i'm not sure if walcott can do a good job on the wings against the chavs and bendtner has to be given a chance, he is definitely more creative than adebayor, although if RvP is back having ade and robin together would be great ah what a headache

if Flams is fit, he should line up in a 5-man MF along w/ Rosicky, Diarra, Denilson and (sigh) Eboue. Denilson and Flams should be more offensive while Diarra should play the holding role. If Cesc or Hleb are fit, then it's another story.

As a Hartlepool fan, even I managed to crack a smile and enjoy the boro on sunday! Tuncay ran his absolute puddings off for the full 90 mins, Walcott appearing sooner could well have been the sort of rapid breaks can the Gooners needed to relieve a bit of the pressure! On a more amusing note, I can't actually believe the Gooners bus got lost trying to find the River-dive, it's the only thing for miles around over on the wasteland! Loves it.......

I still don't understand why we're called Chavs. I thought chavs were supposed to be poor people pretending to be rich. -.-. We're a megalomaniac rich club. That's a difference. We're like a tall napoleon. Tottenham is like a midget version of Caligula. ._.

Definately a denilson start partnered by Diarra. And more drifting in from Rosicky probably.

What about Rosicky in centre mid in the Cesc role? That's where he used to play for the Czech national side. First things first, we need to win and have a good performance against Steau to build our confidence up again. Mind you, I wouldn't be surprised if Cesc and Hleb are back for the Chelsea game, could be Wenger keeping his cards close to his chest...

I don't mind if Arsene send out some 16-year-olds to face Steaua this Wed. Must keep the key players fresh and hungry for Chelsea. I'm confident the guys will bounce back from the Boro shame. And Gael will have an absolutely cracking game!

Louisa no problem in accessing We seem to have dropped our heads a little over the past three games. The points we gained were not what we expected especially after the start we have had. Reflecting on those three games 2 points would have generous let alone 4. We didnt play overall bad, but turning off the rose coloured glasses we were lucky to get what we did. But this period is just the blip all teams go through. We have far too good a team not too climb back again to the heights we were at. I would prefer a different combination at the front to start with: what is wrong with bringing Ade on as a sub for a few weeks. Teams seem to have worked out that by eliminating the ball delivered to Ade, playing deep up the park stops our flow, which over the three games seems to have slowly dried up. I have total faith in the boss to overcome this blip and with the return of our injuries we will return to our previous form. The worrying factor for me is the late tackles that keep occurring;we are not blameless in this regard either the need for referees to start sending players off needs to start.

Yeah the site's back up and running. Like the bad results, that was a blip. You're right, the reality check came just in time for us to pick up ourselves facing Chelsea and Spurs. Even when the players kept saying "it's too soon to talk about the title" I still felt they let the great start get into their heads a little bit. So did we. It's not a bad thing to put down the unbeaten run baggage and have a clean slate.

Arsene should show the players how Avram Grant has just had a dig at us and give them the motivation they need to face Chelsea:

rosicky in the centre would be great but..... on left wing??? denilson has played there but hes not as addept as rosicky there...

No need to change the system. Rosicky anyway drifts into the centre and Denilson would be as good as Lehmann on the left. Just Denilson in for Gilberto/ Diarra.

I would wager that at least one of Cesc or Hleb will play this game. We'll probably see Hleb played on Sunday, then rested for the Spuds game and bring Cesc back or vice versa.

RvP did well against Steaua. Hope he starts against Chelsea! He and Bendtner looked a pretty decent partnership too. In terms of current form, both of them and Theo are better than Ade to be honest.
