From Wimps To Wild Beasts?

From Wimps To Wild Beasts?

I think the time has come to accept that we are such a fantastic footballing side that no matter what our players do, we will be criticised.

Of course our players have over stepped the mark on occasions, be it mistimed tackles or play acting to nothing situations, but is the whole Arsenal bashing craze seems to be here just for the sake of moaning.

Not so long ago, the Gunners were a soft, weak and pathetic bunch who 'did not like it up 'em', teams relished facing the red & whites just for the chance to put their foot in against some of the best players in the country.

How things have changed.

In a couple of short years, the world has changed it's opinion of The Arsenal. The transformation from softies to thugs has been quite remarkable.

Gone are the days of rivals claiming we'd crumble under some physical pressure, oh yes, now we are a dirty team, bunch of thugs apparently, a team who are over zealous in the challenge and like to leave their foot in.

Ok, some of our tackles have been questionable, but lets face it, which team hasn't had it's fair share of mistimed lunges? Come to think of it, I'd hazard a guess that Alex Hleb has been on the receiving end of most of them, yet he's still been the player of the season.

So instead of being angered at ridiculous claims (most of which are coming from Vital Chelsea) we should take heart from the fact that only the most dangerous of teams have this much bile directed at them, only teams who are truly terrifying on the pitch have this kind of treatment reserved for them, and when all's said and done, who really gives a crap about what some jealous outsiders think of us?

Up the Arsenal!

spot on Rocky, it is actually feels good to feel the world is against us, and they keep moaning and complaining about everything we do. i just hope it continues and everybody telling us that we will fail and not win anything, which will only unite the team even more and the lads will go all out to win silverware this season..

I could'nt live without chelsky fans, they are so bitter they make a lemmon taste sweet.
18/12/2007 19:33:00
and i honestly feel the team is desperate for success this season and desperate men do desperate things, so i'm sure they will go beyond what they can do and stretch themselves over the limit to bring the league and the champions league back home because they want it badly more than all of us..

damn right Rocky, up the arsenal alright!!!

You've hit the nail on the head there boss! The fact that teams like Blackburn and Bolton still try to kick the ***** out of our team is besides the point, all that matters is that we are now filth! Also, all this fuss over Eboue's tackle on Terry. I'm not saying his tackle was acceptable, but nothing has been made of Eboue's ligament damage, or some of Ashley Cole's 'tackles.' And ANOTHER thing. What's happening with Cole giving Gooners' the finger? How much fuss do you think would have been made if that had been an Arsenal player?
18/12/2007 19:47:00
There would not be any fuss Simmy just a very puplic execution of the guilty person.

hey if they cant attack your football guess what comes next? foreigners, luck something i bet you if the entire team was english people would complain that we are not giving foreigners a chance anyway they say if you are not being criticized then you are not doing anything worthwhile
