A nice little dinked pass to Bendtner down the right channel, he floated an inch perfect cross to Diaby at the far stick who hit a solid first time shot which looped over Freidel. Bendtners shot that hit the bar was Henry-esque!!

Amazing teenagers, this time they ARE real kids! Not with "oldies" like Baptista, Kolo and Almunia last year. Average age of the starting XI was 20.6 years. Massive, massive victory for the kids! Given the circumstances, this is an achievement no less than the 6-3 massacre at Anfield last year. Even our lion-hearted captain Gallas or first-team fighters like Mattieu "Gattuso" Flamini or Cesc or Kolo would have been impressed. Arsene doesn't eat pies but he now has a headache of his first XI selection.

Unbelievable, absolutely incredible game. The young guns did brilliantly, never stopped running - Diarra literally didn't stop, Bendtner didn't stop running despite the fact he didn't score and Song was amazing in defence - made a couple of mistakes but more than made up for it going forward. All threw their shirts into the crowd at the end and thoroughly deserved to wear the shirt tonight. Stunning, utterly stunning game.

I haven't had this feeling of "we're not afraid of facing anyone in the next round" for a long time... I'm sure the kids will win the cup this time around. Our kids can give ANY Premier League first-team (probably except ManU, but thanks to Coventry and their own "promising" kids, they're out already) a decent cup game. Bring them on!

Blackburn should have no complaints - they were extremely lucky with their 1st goal, and were outplayed by Arsenal.

Yes, amazing, I can't stop talking about it hahaha! This game reminds me of the great fight against full-team Chelsea last year, only the result was overturned. Even better than the Anfield Massacre and both legs against Spurs. Now our big guys will send Spurs to hell come this weekend!

I know we are all very excited about all the outfield players and rigthly so but lets not forget Fabiansky, he made some good saves through out the game, I can't remember him doing any mistakes too speak of.

Phartman, you obviously watched the other game and missed this one. I'm just curious - you think Spurs would stand a chance of beating this team of kids? I think they can truly beat any first-team bar ManU (and Arsenal first-team) with that kind of performance. This reminds me of a line I saw in a newspaper just a few weeks into the season when we were unbeaten and kids having beaten Newcastle and Sheffield and all. It said "Now the best three teams in London are Arsenal first team, Arsenal reserves/youth and Arsenal ladies." True enough.

niko, what ar you talking about Randall was ace? I thought the reason we addapted so well tp playing with ten men was because we already had been for most of the game. He was the one negative for me, the only time I saw him was when he got yellow carded.

Barazite was excellent though, shame about his shoulder, he had really impressed me. Merida looked good the few times he touched the ball but wasnt involved to much as we were doing a lot of defending.

Begrudgingly, Arsenals first team is the best in London (arguably prem) and on their day your kids are probably a match for most teams (as shown last year) but week in week out spurs would out gun your young guns imo

Let's see how much catch-up they manage to do by the end of this seasno then. Obviously they still need to gain more experience - exactly the point of playing them in CC. It'll do their confidence and experience a world of good if they can fight for the cup this time around.

To be 100% honest with you guys, I did feel worried when I saw the team sheet, no first-team regulars even on the bench. I thought Arsene would use Kolo to lead them at the back, or maybe Gilberto in CM, like in the previous CC matches. I think the kids played even better on their own this time. No, Phartman, I don't patronise or fake sympathies. Just that I feel some of you guys had better enjoy whatever you have (a decent manager, Berbatov's class?) and not envy/attack any neighbours or any team. e.g. We truly appreciate what the team and Arsene have been doing this whole decade, and are not jealous of Chelsea's wealth or few years of success. e.g. We wouldn't trade Arsene for any manager in the whole world. e.g. You see we're so ecstatic about a silly CC match (when we're competing strongly on 4 fronts, we shouldn't care) because we know how tough it was for the kids and they were really just kids, but amazing ones. I guess there's just been too much stupid hostility between clubs these days so we're a bit cynical in reading/writing things.

Maybe I was a little harsh on Randall, his ball to Bendtner for the first goal was very nice and subtle. But seriously the one of the youngsters who impressed me the most was Barazite, however briefly he was on the field. He looks a good cross, excellent feet, I've seen his shooting ability on reserves highlights and it is top class and the boy can even defend (which is very rare for a striker). He made to exceptional tackles before getting injured and I just think that its a shame we wont get to see more of him soon.

yeh get well soon Nacer lad!, at 2-2 we looked on the way out up til extra time, the fact this side with an average age of 19.5 found the guts to fight for the win is pretty damn special, esp. when you consider Blackburn knocked our first team out of the FA cup last year, jus feckin brilliant, drained my booze cabinet summit rotten though, down to the cherry Brandy and mulled wine :(

Diarra played well. I hope he wise up and just focus on fighting to get a place than whining. Fabiniski also did well. He can't be blame for the goals because the first one was offside and 2nd goal for Blackburn, our defenders should have marked Cruz much better. Eduardo and Bendtner makes a good partership. Dudu is the real "Fox-in-the-box" not Franny Jeffers.

Yea I hope Barazite gets well. But just to comment on his preformance today, I thought he was out of his league. He looked slow and off the pace.

Where's BITC(H)? Didn't he said we would crumble against Blackburn? Probably avoiding vital Arsenal till we slip up, seeing as he's a tool.

i'd like to get everton in the semi's, so we can be sure to progress, and spurs in the final! a cup final against the spuds, at Wembley, it can't get better than that.
