'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Wenger proud of Bendtner (AUDIO)

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger was full of praise for super-sub Nicklas Bendtner. The Dane scored with his first touch of the ball with the scores level and Robbie Keane missing a penalty for Spurs just three minutes later.

Wenger admitted he would have taken a draw the way the game unfolded, but after watching Bendtner nod home Cesc Fabregas's corner says he's pleased to settle for a little bit more.

The following is from The Times - "it was fantastic" Bendtner said "First touch. First premier league goal. People said to me that they don't remember that ever happening and I don't think it will happen in a long time. Arsene told me to get on and I said to Vic (Akers) our kit man, to get me on for the corner and I'll score for you. It was quite funny when it actually did happen.

Brilliant Stuff. Hopefully now, he wont act like such a "superstar" and realise that he is getting chances and will get even more in the future.

I have been impressed a lot recently by Bendtner's performances, and he also seems to be making the right noises in interviews as well. What utter confidence - telling Vic (even if in jest) that he would score if put on before the corner. Great stuff !

I also like the kid's confidence, not worried about his potential of becoming an egocentric "superstar" because hopefully more games and experience and Arsene's nurture will help him learn to balance that. At the same time, apparently the rest of the team love Almunia even more than our match winner, to me a modest and likeable guy, as you could see at the end of the game. Awesome stuff too!

Bendtner is in Arsenal to stay and again what a goal he scored against the spuds. Two winning goals coming from headers in the last 2 EPL games...so not Arsenal style LOL ;)
