Beckham Is A Gooner

David Beckham is a gooner.

But only temporarily.

The former England captain and Manchester United player is currently training with the Arsenal squad in order to get fit ahead of the start of the MLS season.

Rumours surfaced that Beckham would train at London Colney months ago.

It's well documented that the Gunners have the finest training facilites in Europe, indeed, fine enough that money bags Abramovich tried to copy the design for his own club.

Arsene Wenger confirmed Beckham was at the club. 'He is working to be fit when he is moving to Los Angeles in February, so now, in January, we are giving him assistance with his fitness,'

Whilst David Beckham may come across as a flash git, he is one of a few English international footballers I have time for. A great professional, hard worker and model father. Hopefully some of his professionalism can rub off on a few of our youngsters.

Hopefully he can teach Justin Hoyte how to cross a ball.

Yes a professional model and a model professional. Hope our youngsters and oldies alike take a leaf from his book about respecting his clubs and managers' decisions and working hard to earn his starting place while warming the bench.

I can think of a few prem players that could do with crossing assistance.

Another mutually beneficial agreement. Our legion of youngsters can only learn from him. If Arsene had had the readies in 2003, I'm certain Beckham would have been an Arsenal player. It's touted (though this is only hear say), that the root of Fergie's infamous 'bootgate' scuffle with Beckham following our victory over them at OT stems from a conversation that went something like this, FERGIE: "Ashley Cole made a right **** out of you." BECKHAM: "Well Arsene Wenger made an even bigger **** out of you." I hope that's true. Either way, I'm sure this brief allegiance won't please the purple nosed *****.

But don't you guys feel weird to see him in a No. 23 Arsenal training kit and apparently chatting with Cesc? Don't know, just don't feel he's "one of us" maybe. Just weird on the eye.

LD, that's a brilliant story! True or not, it's funny all the same.

LD I pray that story is true. The grand master outwitted by a "thick" footballer. I don't even think there would be a name for the shade of purple his nose would have turned.

It wouldn't entirely surprise me if it was true, Wenger and Beckham have always been very complimentary of one another, which this agreement certainly seems to vouch for. Like I say, this reinforces my belief that, if we had the money, we'd have made a serious attempt to buy Beckham a few years back.

Funny that beckham chooses not to go back to OT to keep himself fit after 10 years there! everyone loves wenger.

Gazzap, apparently the training ground is close to where he lives so it's convenient for him.

i hope Golden Balls changes his mind and joins us on loan for the remainder of the season. i'm sure Arsene wouldn't mind having him, and DB is still too good a player to play in that crap league in US..

You know what else is funny? A few months back Vital Spurs ran an article saying Beckham was gunna train with them and how much benefit their young players would gain from it..........geez, they can't even borrow a player properly!!! Lol.

Rocky LOL that's funny! At least when Beckham's thinking which club's ground to go to, Watford guys didn't make any noise though theirs was part of his consideration, again due ot proximity. If anyone had a choice, who'd choose anywhere other than Colney, everyone knows it's the best training ground in London. ANd they've added a video on Arsenal TV Online. Apparently Beckham's the only guy who doesn't wear that vest on top of his training kit - to show that No. 23 on his chest, or just that he's not part of the 5-a-side or whatever game they're playing in 2 groups?

The boss has come up with a great soundbite for the media to quote again. On Beckham being at Colney, he said: "He doesn't live far away and always loved Arsenal. That's why we help him."

The news also says he'll probably train more with the reserves than the first XI. Great to have him share with the youngsters some of his experience, which he has in abundance - he's the 2nd oldest player training there now behind Jens.
