Arse Catches The Eye Of Top Totti

Italy. Ah, the country of passion, good food, beautiful women, muggers on the back of mopeds who nick said womens' handbags, and giant-fuck-off prehistoric-looking wasps that scare the bejeezus out of me.

Italy is also the country of the reigning Champions League holders, AC Milan, the team we face in the next round of said cup, and who aim to dump out of the competition. A result that would shock many, if not us Gooners, if we do so.

One man who sounds like he wouldn't be surprised is Francesco Totti. The 31-year old, who has in the past been scathing about The Arsenal, was quoted today as heaping praise on Arsene Wenger's young charges. The Giallorossi star is quoted as saying, when asked who he has admired most in this season's competition:

Arsenal`s young team. When your team is only composed of players who lack experience, usually you face big difficulties at international level. It is not the case [for the Gunners].

The Gunners are as comfortable in the Champions League as in The Premier League. It makes me happy because it shows that betting on the academies can pay.

When you can rely on Fabregas, (or fellow Roma team-mates) [Daniele] de Rossi or [Alberto] Aquilani, then you don`t have to spend €200 million.

Or indeed £16m on Darren Bent. Well said, that man.

It is a compliment coming from a footballer as good as Ttti, and for all his antics on the field who truly is a symbol of what is lacking in European football off it. A one club man, who gives half of all his earnings to charity. I remember after the 06 WC reading an interview with RVP in which he said they were both holidaying, post-tournament, in the same hotel and when he first met him he thought he would be a real arrogan**** from how he plays but said he was the most down to earth footballer he'd met once he got to know him. A bit like our Cesc really, humble off the pitch a firey, passionate, irrational hot head on it.

Not flooded, just soggy. Lots of irrate tourists. then again, when you're a Gooner down here, you are mostly nocturnal anyway, so I hardly notice. Just lovin the team right now. proud to be a Gooner, in among all the other big 4 fans, coz that's all we have here

Goonerphil, I'm not a member yet but I drink with some of the boys from Arsenal Australia on game nights at a pub in Melbourne good blokes and beats watching the games by yourself.

I may not be the biggest fan of Totti but he's a great player. It amazes me that he wasn't in the European Footballer of the Year nominees last year instead they opt for fat Tevez, as one of the nominees. Yes, he saved West Ham from relegation but that's it compared to winner of golden boot and World Cup winner.

darinb007, google Arsenal Australia and you'll find the home page. Went down to Brisbane for the scum match with a few other Gooners from Glasshouse mountain, great night. Haven't gone out to watch any games other than that, not worth getting a RBT. We're going to try and get the Brisbane lads up to the Pig and Whistle at sunshine plaza for a game. I'm at Palmwoods mate drop me a PM once signed up to Oz Arsenal we'll sort something out with the Glasshouse lot. Going to see the Roar Sunday with them if you fancy that.

What's wrong with the wasps in Italy? At least its only 1 species, over here in the tropics we have at least 5 species of big wasps... Totti is really one of the few one-club players in football today. Of course the other notable one-club player is Paolo Maldini.

aussies taking over the airwaves! i used to watch matches at 3 in the morning at the liverpool supporters club on queen st in melbourne cbd, as i couldn't afford cable and didn't know any gooners that did. you get so much more sleep being a gooner in europe!

Because Sffi, he deserves it. He was the one who commented about how he was worth as much as Henry, and really, he's not worth the ***** on my shoe. With a comment like that, and teh way he's played since, its gonna be a very long time before we let you forget how you got mugged for £16m for a player my little girl could defend against!
