Wenger To Crash Spurs Party?

I'm not usually one for printing rumours but this one is quite interesting.

After Boro released a statement that they had agreed a few with Tottenham Hotspur for Johnathan Woodgate, reports are that another club has come in at the 11th hour to try and hijack the move.

Of course with Tottenham being the front runners for Woodgate's signature, the only possible rivals for the player could be Arsenal Football Club. Because it would just be too funny.

Woodgate's talent is undeniable, his proneness to injury would be a worry.

However this rumour is probably to be taken with a pinch of salt, but it would bring a smile to my face should it materialise.

Wenger has already said that this story is junk on the official website. And really: a 28 year old, injury-prone englishman? Hardly sounds like a Wenger signing. Typical for Spurs though - he can partner King on the physio table...
I think it might be true. AW's transfer comments are usually always refusals, he never openly states he's after anyone. Woodgate would be good for us. I know he's forever injured but when he's not, he is quality.
It might well be true but don't come too soon ladies.. big snub maybe..

F e c k i n g Man Yoo away.
United away, you've gotta laugh. All those stadiums left that we never get a chance to visit, and we get this. Rubbish.
Little Dutch
i second that...
And we play Manu well what a match?
can't believe we got the toughest opponent and liverpool and chelsea both got Barnsley and Huddersfield at home...
Mind you, it's not like Chelsea to get an easy home draw is it? With both sides wanting anything other than a replay and with the CL first leg ties following the game that midweek, I would be surprised to see Adebayor, Fabregas, Rooney and Ronaldo starting this game.

Looks like the Chavs are going to have a p!ss easy run to the final again.
effin joke the draw i tells ya. oh well, spose we'll have to do it the hard way as usual
Oh and with Liverpool and Chelsea getting virtual byes into the enxt round, they will draw each other in the QF and we'll all be subjected to the worst game in the footballing calendar. The boring, defensive long ball merchants versus the, well, boring, defensive long ball merchants.
Little Dutch
There is a pretty good chance this year that somebody manages to do a Millwall tho'. Luck permitting with the next couple of rounds with the big boys picking eachother off.
hatespur Seems as if we didn't go in for Woodgate after all.
Not true.. Wenger has denied it.
Wengers denial of the Woodgate story is pretty emphatic “I do not know where that story came from,” he said. “There is no truth in it at all. We have never been in touch with Middlesbrough about Jonathan Woodgate.” . Best news though is that Toure should have recovered in 10 days
I think the Arsenal link was brought up so that there'll soon be headlines of "Woodgate snubs Gunners for Spurs" or "Woodgate opts for switch to North London kings Spurs"
anyway - all joking to one side (I can't believe I am back on here) I have to agree.. You guys are a little unlucky on Cup draws.. You never seem to get easy ones. Unlike the Chavs and Liverpool..
The Tailor
Yeah, we always get easy ones, last season we got huddersfield and tottenham.
yeah that's right K_C - and you needed a replay with two fluke goals from Shev and SWP to win it.. easy, really easy... Get a grip.
The Tailor
well we got knocked out by blackburn rovers,so it really doesnt matter who we get, i would rather have this out of the way now.then having to face then in the latter stages
fran merida
We needed a replay because know, we were playing in the champions league, lost a bit of focus. I'm sure it has happened with tottenham. Right?
Not a chance of Woodgate coming, Wenger likes his players to have a brain other than the footballing variety, loved the Peter Ridsdale quote about him "Jonathon could never be described as a mastermind, he had been told to look after his own passport and keep it somewhere safe. On one European trip the players were asked for their passports, but Jonathon did'nt have his. Ridsdale asked him where it was and Woodgate replied 'you told me to keep it somewhere safe so I did - it's in the safe at home!!' " classic.
He signed with Spuds for something like 7mil today
Niko LOL that's hilarious!

I don't mind Woodgate at Arsenal...
