No To Game 39. FSF and FFC

The Football Supporters` Federation

For Immediate Release -

NO TO GAM£ 39

Following an unprecedented response from the football fans of England and Wales to Premier League plans for an extra match to be played abroad, the Football Supporters` Federation announced the NO TO GAM£ 39 campaign.

In the 24 hours since the Premier League announced its plan for a money-spinning extra round of fixtures to be played abroad, fans from all over England and Wales have flocked to the FSF website www.fsf.org.uk to express their fury at these outrageous proposals by signing our on-line petition.

FSF Head of Policy, Steven Powell, an Arsenal fan, said: "Yet again, those running our national game have displayed a complete disregard for the interests of those without whom there would be no show - the fans themselves. They`ve simply gone too far, and the time has arrived for football supporters to stand up and be counted."

The Football Supporters` Federation`s NO TO GAM£ 39 campaign will co-ordinate strong, swift and decisive action at both national and local levels, designed to leave Premier League Chairmen in no doubt that the vast majority of fans have finally had enough.

The FSF`s Mark Longden, a Manchester United supporter, added "More than 4,000 fans have already voted in our online poll - and a massive 94% of them are completely opposed to the Premiers League`s proposals.

The fight back starts here - it`s time for us to reclaim our game from those intent on pimping it out just to boost their already burgeoning bank balances."

The campaign will include local action at every Premiership club, inviting supporters of all teams to unite under the banner NO TO GAM£ 39. The FSF is urging all supporters to voice their opposition to this proposal in the following ways:

Sign the FSF`s on-line petition at: www.fsf.org.uk

Email the FSF at notogame39@fsf.org.uk to register your support for the campaign, letting us know who you support, what ideas you have for a supporters' protest and what you can do to help.

Tally for the petition is now at 3481, whilst this is excellent - especially in such a short time frame we need it to be into tens of thousands, get your family, friends, colleagues basically anyone with an email and even a fleeting interest in the game, and get them on this now.

You're right niko. At the moment we're are barely an away section in the corner of Fratton Park.......we need full stadiums worth of signatures express their disdain!!!
Rocky7

For once I'm so happy I couldn't access a website. THe FSF site's receiving so much traffic that it doesn't load up for me! :D

I don`t want to sound stupid here but why a 39th game in the first place?the biggest argument i keep reading is the ramden lottery of who plays who and where, surely a more fesable way would be to still have your 38 games, and if a winter break is introduced have that game that is penceled to play, played in a selected country, this would massivly reduce the unjust and the unfairness of it all.even though it`s still not right it sounds a lot better than what those idiots are suggesting.
arsenor
man city leading 2 -0 at the break..!!! Hope they dont ***** it up
HENRY`14
man city are a team who have really grown on me since ol' sven took over. the whole season they have risen in my books, and in the last 45 minutes that has doubled.
ArsenalRob
hehehhehe :P Very well done City!
Lou the Gunneress
The best team won. And Rob, agreed 100%.
Lou the Gunneress
now hopefully liverpool can win... !! (draw will be fine tho...)
HENRY`14
Great job City....now we have to win, we can't screw this chance up like we have before.
AB_Arsenal
man u lost haha,we have to win tommorrow, now i slowly start to beleive the title might be ours!!come on you gooners
the arsenal
Excellent result for Citeh!, Utd were poor and toothless today without Shrek, first time in 38 years they have done the double over Utd so Sven has already ensured legendary status among the true manc - blue moon indeed!. Immaculately observed silence and how refreshing to see strips not plastered in cacky ugly corporate w@nk - really noticable by it's absence and even the commentators noted they look like footballers again - not walking billboards, shame it was just for one day.
nikolaijns
LOL yeah Niko! A local commentator said the goals scored per game was 2.xx with Shrek, but the stat was 0.5x without him. I had that impression too but didn't know ManU're that bad without him.
Lou the Gunneress
Also Nani, Anderson, O'Shea, Carrick, Wes Brown, if this lot were any more bog standard they'd be sponsored by toilet duck.
nikolaijns
Hehehee they looked so ordinary. Ronaldo, Giggs, Scholes and Tevez had a bad day out too. Maybe the pressure to 'do well and pay tribute to Busby Babes' was too much for them.
Lou the Gunneress
But I'd rather give credit to City for being so outstanding. It was tough for ManU.
Lou the Gunneress
maybe saudi trip got into them lot
