'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Sepp The Saviour Of English Football

'The enemy of my enemy is my friend'

It appears that a man who has often tried to stand in the way of everything that is good in English football could become the saviour of the Premier League.

Sepp Blatter, a man not unknown to have a harebrained scheme or two himself, thinks Scudamore and the Premier League's idea to add a 39th fixture to the domestic season and take it to other countries is as idiotic as the majority of football fans in England.

Blatter has vowed not to let Scudamore turn the Premier League into a 'circus' and even threatened the country's world cup bid should the move come to pass.

'We will make a decision on 14th March at the meeting of Fifa's executive committee,' Blatter told the Mirror. We will say the national associations must not accept it. We must maintain football as a sport. It is not a show, or the Harlem Globetrotters, or a circus act.'

'There is not any chance at all of me changing my mind. My mind is made up. If Mr Scudamore says this will help England's World Cup bid let him say it. There are many candidates for 2018.'

'I can't imagine when you go against the decision-making body for the World Cup with an initiative that will not be accepted by that body, that it will enhance your chances.'

'It will not be diplomatic. If you don't accept the authority of Fifa then you can't expect to win favour.'

'To try to have additional exposure and revenue by expanding the league around the world, I think this is not acceptable,'

'It will not be acceptable to the Fifa executive committee, I am sure. This will never happen - at least this will not happen as long as I am the president of Fifa.'

'We have not been contacted before by the league to ask us what we think of this idea. You speak about rude but I think it is an anti-responsibility. If you are the most prosperous league in the world and if you accept that everyone in football has a responsibility to maintain it not only as a business, but as a game.'

'Then, all of a sudden you come out with a project which only has business and money behind it.'

I don't know, when Blatter is against something I tend to look at it more favourably, anyway it is never going to happen as the fans will revolt and they have been *****ed off enough as it is with inflated ticket prices.

Please lets not credit him with making sure this move doesnt go through. The intense public opposition from fans and presidents of the Asian and Australian FAs pretty much scuppered the idea. He still remains a hypocritical figure, and one who I do not respect at all.

Credit where due, Prits. He's said silly things before but this is probably the best thing I've ever heard him say. There's no way the FA will win the bid if they go against Fifa. He's made it clear and hasn't tried to beat about the bush. But I wonder, if the 20 current teams accept the proposal, what will happen if the three new teams next season refuse to accept the ideas? They could save us too you know.

Blatter is a corrupt and malign influence on the game serving only his interests and that of his cronies. True to type he threatens to punish the English FA for a proposal made by the PL. That Scudamore and PL officials have managed to make him sound reasonable it's a previously unimaginable achievement and in itself is condemnation enough. That Blatter has managed to turn what should be a PR triumph into a seedy attempt to ban England from staging a World Cup is typical of the way that blackmail and bribery comes automatically into his thoughts when tackling any problem.

The more noble the façade the more disreputable the reality, the more pious it seems the more bloodthirsty it is.

Regarding Blatter, he is'nt disagreeing with this cos it's the worst idea since..well anything from Simon Cowell. No he's disagreeing cos he hates the English and is bitterly jealous the Prem is the most watched league worldwide,

Didn't Mother Teresa make some remarks about poor people living in poverty as punishment for sins in a past life? Wait, maybe that was Glenn Hoddle.

As for Mary Whitehouse, try this quote, "we only hate that which we see in ourselves!"

To be honest I don't give a rats ass who gets the credit for putting a stop to this proposal....just as long as it gets stopped and my beloved game is safe!!!

no matter what he says, he is a dirty two-faced fat ****. I don't buy a word of what he said. He probably saw there was no interest for him and the organization he represents there (yet!) so he is just mouthing off.
