'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Wenger on off day (AUDIO)

The tie of the round would have left the 9000 travelling fans gobsmacked at the performance from their team. Following on from their humiliating League Cup exit at the hands of North London rivals Spurs just last month, few would have believed the Gunners' would be on the receiving end of such a result so soon after.

Man of the match Wayne Rooney opened the scoring just past the quarter hour mark before Darren Fletcher nodded in a second four minutes later. It was a Portuguese winger who made it 3 before half time, Nani stepping in for probably his best performance this season.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger said Emmanuel Eboue's sending off seemed 'harsh' in his opinion but admitted his side were well out of the game by the time Fletcher scored his second header of the match on 74 minutes.

The real test comes in midweek. Arsenal bounced back emphatically after their League Cup exit in January, now can they pick themselves up for the last 16 first leg tie at the Emirates against a lacklustre AC Milan side?

Me neither, what a crap display. Arsene, how about showing Eboue the door?
darinb007
If we were trying to lure Milan into a false sense of security I think it's safe to say 'job done!'.

Lovely to see your petulant, cheating, diving, bad losing set of tossers get stuffed again. Adebayors dive, Eboues tackle, Gallas kick. Shame
HuddersfieldYiddo
yet we're still a mammoth humping 31 points in front of your spineless shower of runny excrement, no wonder your posts stink of acrid bitterness you silly little spunk gibbon.
nikolaijns
first that ***** tonytime then this complete ball licker jeez the women in Huddersfield must be well feckin hangin' - either that or they've all moved out to civilisation and bell ends like this are left to 'self satisfy'
nikolaijns
Youre the one getting personal niko and you sound like youre about 8years old in the process. You have to admit you really dont have any class in the way you handle defeat. You now under Wenger play some excellent football and have a great side yet i honestly believe youre now more universally hated than Man utd and Leeds combined. Why is that? Coz the Indicipline and Petulence Wenger has installed throughout Arsenal is there for all to see. How many red cards is it now under winger? 76? More mass brawls, Dives, Off the ball incidents, Moans and Red + Yellow cards to fill a lifetime. Shame
HuddersfieldYiddo
we can be 8 pts clear before manutd play their next league game. My glass is half full, not half empty.
49ers
Huddersfield Yiddo - why you don't you go somewhere where someone actually gives a **** about what you say? I really think you're depriving a village of an idiot.
Gooner_Vin
Funny to hear a Yiddo going on about being "universally hated". The irony! Tottenham are easily the most hated team in London. Maybe that's why you live in Huddersfield? The only thing it has in common with Tottenham is that it's also a *****hole.

Dudes, match report will be on at lunchtime. Internet has gone down at chez Stillman, Virgin Media had already lost my custom over the Arsenal TV shenenigans, this has just sped up the process.
Little Dutch

http://www.chelseafc.com/page/NewsHomePage/0,,10268~1243196,00.html What say you about this springy?
Little Dutch
I'd say the ever increasing presence of Chelsea fans on this page is confirmation that they feel a little silly for a) being eight points behind us when our starting eleven regularly costs less than Chavchenko and b) they feel a little silly for predicting an Arsenal demise that hasn't materialised. As for Spurs fans using the cup result at United as evidence of United's superiority over us when we lead them by five pooints after 26 games! Tottenham fans ignoring 26 matches which prove otherwise and focussing on a one off cup deafeat as evidence, why does that sound incredibly familiar?
Little Dutch
Hahahahaha, that Essien story is superb, LD. He is a closet Gooner, clearly.
Moorish
little dutch ive seen you spunk away points leads before, seems you are counting your chickens. (pun intended) little fella! that was an r soling it could have been 8!!
springy
by the way you couldnt afford essien!!
springy
Well if you still think we're gonna finish fifth Springy, more power to you. Chelsea haven't been involved in title races long enough for me to remember a Chelsea capitulation, we'll talk again in fifty years or so.
Little Dutch
a bit of flattery there ld,you thinking that it will take fifty years for chelsea to bottle it! and more power to you if you think we aint gonna be involved or win premierships!you and the mancs had it between you for a while but like it or not plus and in light of 4th in revenue generated we are going to be there for a while yet!!carefree!!
springy
i dunno, what could be more amusing than spuds or chavs trying to wind us up about the past and the future going ons of our club.it would be like the elephant man telling ian dowie that he is ugly.unbelievable......
