Oh You F***ing Beauty!!!

Hands up who thought we'd fluffed it when Adebayor missed that sitter in the last minute of the first leg at Ashburton Grove.

**Raises hands**

Make no bones about it, we were up against the odds tonight, we weren't facing a group of Sunday league cloggers, we had to score against one of the best clubs in the world.

Not only did we become the first ever English club to win against AC Milan at the San Siro (How many Spurs reminded us that they'd never lost to an English club at home when we drew the first leg?) but we absolutely bossed the game from start to finish with quite possibly the best performance I have ever seen.

Mr Stillman will give you the match report when he returns from Italy (He informed me that the travelling Gooners are being treated to a 'History of Highbury dvd on the big screens as we speak) but until then.........enjoy.

Yeah I agree niko, we could have lost and still I'd have been thoroughly proud of our performance (in both legs) I can't help but wonder if our waywardness at the weekend was because the lads had one eye on this match, the difference was astounding, yet it was exactly the same line up...... The best thing is, it will be a massive shot in the arm for our league aspirations....

It didn't look as if we would ever get the ball into the net. The goal came out of the blue given everything that had gone on before but Wnger had his tactics right Milan pushed forward more in the last 20 minutes and left more space at the back. Wenger is sometimes accused of lacking the tactical expertise of managers like Ancellotti but we not only out played them we out thought them as well. What a great night and yet another European first. Gallas was immense yet again.

Thanks Edy heehee, but you should congratulate US. :) Still can't sleep!! And Wyn Mills, speaking of Milan fans' reaction, the entire Italian bar in which I watched the game was shaking their heads. My Milan-supporting schoolmate said to me at the end, "We didn't do very well. You guys were too good." We were bossing the game so much last night that, when we came out in the 2nd half and passed up a couple of chances I began to wait for the sucker punch. But it never came. The team stayed true to their priciples and, having shackled Milan perfectly throughout the game, then broke their hearts with first Cesc's and then Ade's late sealer. Hats off to them, one and all, they showed great belief and team spirit tonight. Onwards to the quarters, lads n' lasses...
