Arsenal Boys Back At Wembley

Arsenal may be out of the FA Cup, but it's nice to see some of the old guard will be back on the big stage after Portsmouth's smash and grab job at Old Trafford today.

Pompey marched into the semi-finals of the FA Cup today after a late penalty awarded the Arsenal retirement village the spoils.

Tony Adams, Sol Campbell, and 'Ralph' Lauren have all been to major semi-finals and finals with the Gunners, and even short stay midfielder Lassana Diarra enjoyed the occasion at Old Trafford.

Portsmouth are a distinctly likable club with an equally likable manager, and I hope the go on to win the oldest club competition in the world.

Good luck fellas.

Good to see Uncle Tony and some of the more recent gooners get a win at old trafford. Well done Pompey, although I think they could've done a bit more damage and played in some of those free kicks to test Ferdinand. Well done Pompey.

Good on yer Pompey - would be great to see 'arry come away with some reward for they way he plays the game. I would have preferred a replay, and then a Pompey win, in all honesty but I'll take a crocked 1st choice keeper and a suspended 2nd choice keeper as some compensation.

Haven't United just yesterday let Foster go out on loan as well? Interesting to see what happens there,I'd wager they'll patch Edwin up.

Serves Man Utd right for the cockiness shown against Arsenal. They hv to learn to respect other professionals especially when they are having an off day. I did not see Nani messing around today???

Wish Pompey the best of luck! Afraid they'd draw Chelsea in the next round. But judging from Chelsea's luck on the other hand, they'll get Bristol. Fight on Pompey!

i saw the game just before, was hoping for a replay aswell..... i know its nothing new but jesus the ref was *****e. the only thing he got right was the sending off. So very inconsistent. Cant beleive the ***** that manu get away with sometimes, it was ridiculous and then he gave em 'extra' injury time on top of that....wouldve been shattered for portsmouth if it had been a replay. I swear though, i can appreciate ronaldo, but *****in nani..... i dont wanna say for someone to break his leg anymore cos its not really funny anymore, but ***** he has to be the most annoying player out there, even more so than eboue

I wonder where they'd put the likes of Fletcher and O'Shea now, in goal maybe..? To me they (and the likes of Sidwell) have always been a mystery.

WYBI, the more I look back, the more I think we only lost when we were not interested. We were just not up for it vs Spurs or ManU in the domestic cups. Losing was/is fine with us, it's just the way we lost that's disappointing. But who cares now. Let's sit back and watch Sir Red Nose's rant and the great experts' punditry about how ManU will bounce back in no time, whereas we still have to prove ourselves by overcoming Wigan's pitch and not getting complacent after Milan and playing with all those injuries and youth and inexperience and blah blah blah.

Hear Ferguson say he agrees with wenger? lol, I couldn't stop laughing when I heard his rant, you can tell he's hurting.
The 4-0 hurt them more than us seeing as they will be playing catch up with a game in hand and probably have no keeper. Lol, see rio try and fake to dive right? So much for the treble.

Earlier TV commentary after Barnsley went 1-0: "It could be another embarrassment for Avram Grant, probably more so than the Tottenham game." LOL Who would have thought! Who the heck would have thought?! TV: "No ManU, no Arsenal, no Liverpool, no Chelsea now." But Barnsley, Pompey, Boro/Cardiff, Bristol/West Brom. Yes Gunnerkid, beauty of the FA Cup - at long last! Pompey will now go on and win the cup!!

Its good to see someone else will win the cup outside the top 4. But to be honest i dont about Chelsea & Man U's shortcomings, i just care about Arsenal and what we can win this year. With both of them out now they will be concentrating on the two trophies we want. Will be an interesting Climax to the season.

Glad we can help out. For me it's 33 years of watching Pompey & at 41 it's my first trip to Wembley. I've waited & seffered for my cause & I'm going to enjoy this.
