Flamini: We Need To Fight

Flamini: We Need To Fight

The superior version of AC Milan's Gattuso, Mathieu Flamini, says we need to be ready to fight if we want to win the title.

There has been a lot of talk about the state of the Wigan Athletic pitch at the JJB on Sunday, but the Flamster says we have to quit making excuses on get on with the job.

'The pitch was horrible but it was the same for both teams. Of course we like to play and we had to play more long balls, so it was more difficult for us.'

'But you cannot moan. You just have to score goals and we didn't, so now we have to work harder in training and be ready for Middlesbrough on Saturday.'

'When you want to win the title you have to be ready to fight.'

Right on Matty!!!!

He was one of the few players who fought with the intensity required on Sunday, Gallas and Sagna were the others. The others look too jaded (Cesc, Clichy, Hleb) or unwilling (Adebayor). I can't see that changing significantly enough for us to get to the finishing line.

Not to heap pressure on the lad, but I think our title chances lie mostly on the shoulders of Robin van Persie. Adebayor is not playing well at all, and now Eduardo is injured we need a clinical finisher, and no-one is more deadly than RvP.

Inclined to agree, Adebayor has carried the can for a long time and done it well. Now is RVP's time to shine, I was enthused by his sub appearance at Wigan, he looked sharp and very hungry. Easy to say in hindsight, but Sunday was exactly the type of game you could have seen Eduardo settling for us with one clinical moment.

I could certainly have seen him put away the first minute chance. That's the sort of thing he thrives on. Where as RvP would probably have flicked it over the keeper, done a 360, a cute little drag back and then smashed it in the top corner!!!! I've missed that geezer!!!

Perhaps a return from Rosicky and the improvment in recent games of walcott could help us win back the title. I also think the fans can help by being as loud as possible in our final 9 games. I know id play better with people cheering and roaring me on rather than silence, groaning and people leaving early.

The support at Wigan was ****, agreed. Don't think we can rely on Rosicky at all, unless we're 3 goals to the good he usually delivers a goal. When he's effin fit. It would be so nice if Robin could play a few games in the run in, if anyone's seen his stats for consistent playing minutes in the last 2 years then you'll be shocked. Arsene never used to sign such injury prone players.

I do think you guys miss Rosicky a lot more than you notice at first. When he gets back you'll get a big boost.
