Flamini: We Need To Fight

The superior version of AC Milan's Gattuso, Mathieu Flamini, says we need to be ready to fight if we want to win the title.

There has been a lot of talk about the state of the Wigan Athletic pitch at the JJB on Sunday, but the Flamster says we have to quit making excuses on get on with the job.

'The pitch was horrible but it was the same for both teams. Of course we like to play and we had to play more long balls, so it was more difficult for us.'

'But you cannot moan. You just have to score goals and we didn't, so now we have to work harder in training and be ready for Middlesbrough on Saturday.'

'When you want to win the title you have to be ready to fight.'

Right on Matty!!!!

He was one of the few players who fought with the intensity required on Sunday, Gallas and Sagna were the others. The others look too jaded (Cesc, Clichy, Hleb) or unwilling (Adebayor). I can't see that changing significantly enough for us to get to the finishing line.
Little Dutch
Not to heap pressure on the lad, but I think our title chances lie mostly on the shoulders of Robin van Persie. Adebayor is not playing well at all, and now Eduardo is injured we need a clinical finisher, and no-one is more deadly than RvP.
Rocky7
Inclined to agree, Adebayor has carried the can for a long time and done it well. Now is RVP's time to shine, I was enthused by his sub appearance at Wigan, he looked sharp and very hungry. Easy to say in hindsight, but Sunday was exactly the type of game you could have seen Eduardo settling for us with one clinical moment.
Little Dutch
I could certainly have seen him put away the first minute chance. That's the sort of thing he thrives on. Where as RvP would probably have flicked it over the keeper, done a 360, a cute little drag back and then smashed it in the top corner!!!! I've missed that geezer!!!
Rocky7
i am agree with u rocky that it's RVP's time to shine now and i ve a feeling that he ll do it
princeoflove909
*i agree with ....

Perhaps a return from Rosicky and the improvment in recent games of walcott could help us win back the title. I also think the fans can help by being as loud as possible in our final 9 games. I know id play better with people cheering and roaring me on rather than silence, groaning and people leaving early.
paul_ownz
The support at Wigan was ****, agreed. Don't think we can rely on Rosicky at all, unless we're 3 goals to the good he usually delivers a goal. When he's effin fit. It would be so nice if Robin could play a few games in the run in, if anyone's seen his stats for consistent playing minutes in the last 2 years then you'll be shocked. Arsene never used to sign such injury prone players.
AFC85Lew
Hi everyone i am new on this site however i have been following it for ages...anyway flamster is right we need to stop making excuses and do what we do best and rip teams apart and win.
gjonelezaj
I do think you guys miss Rosicky a lot more than you notice at first. When he gets back you'll get a big boost.
The_Legend_Of_Zola
A couple of strikers I believe is top of the shopping list in the summer...Dudu will be out long term..Ade is ok in patches...RVP is injury prone and Theo is still learning...
radar
and Bentdner ?...still not sure if he will become top top quality.....
radar
i just wish we'd signed ribery in the summer. maybe this year??
KingGunner
Wenger says on arsenal.com today that he won't add in the summer. We have Carlos Vela joining us as well, who can play wing and up front. We could do with another central defender and winger/forward type player.
Gooner_Vin
I agree with Paul_ownz, we really have to get behind the team now. We need passionate support to lift the team in this final part of the marathon. And off topic again.. am I the only one who's actually enjoying Everton's game vs Fiorentina? I even hope they'll get through because they keep fighting and fighting, now in the last part of extra time with penalty shoot-outs on the cards. Talk about fight.
Lou the Gunneress
heehehhehee did you guys watch PSV v Spurs PSO? :P
Lou the Gunneress
Gomes Gomes. Yes Yes Yes
King Kolo
Im off too Spurs vital to wind some Spuds up.
King Kolo
nikolaijns
Oh come on.. Spurs were a bit unlucky, but then I didn't watch the whole game. I thought Everton were very unlucky, hitting the post, forcing some great saves, having some questionable decisions. They put up a really good fight and deserved to go through.
Lou the Gunneress
Lou yes they were. We lost to PSV last year around the same time last year. They are good side. But I love it when the spuds lose.
King Kolo
Well it's always cruel to come to PSO.. Had we gone out of CL by PSO at the San Siro, I could have cried! Wouldn't have wanted to see any morons to come over and wind us up you know. Don't rub salt into their wounds (or rub less, if you can).. I only saw some bits of the Spurs game, but watched the entire Goodison game and feel for Everton. Poor them.
Lou the Gunneress
King Kolo is the scum beneath my shoe... you belong in the gutter with the rest of the Le Scum supporters....
Teal007
hey teal don't despair, despite being in the bottom half of the table you have qualified for next year. the uefa cup just wouldn't be the same without spurs!
JakeB
dont let the blue nosed ********s get even close!
1888scott
For team that hasn't actually won anything yet this season, there does appear to be an awful lot of gloating. I simply imagine it will be returned in the near future. Beating an aging AC Milan side, who 'historically' have never lost at home to an English side does not make you champions. Win nothing this season and all that will be remembered will be your capitulations at Old Trafford and White Hart Lane.
Bran Mak Morn
Bran Mak Morn - that "aging" AC Milan side would have dicked all over the Spuds. You know it too, in your bitter, twisted heart. It's okay mate, just let it out. That's it, cry it out buddy.
Moorish
Got another user name eh Sir?
Gunnerman
Sign the contract you greedy ********.
hazzagooner
He said he would at end of the season.
paul_ownz
I got a BAD feeling we're going to get Man Utd in the draw tomorrow for the Champs League. IF we do, that means we'll play them 3 TIMES in 2 WEEKS!!!
Gooner_Vin
the same if we get liverpool
fran merida
And chelsea, althought it will be 3 times in 2 and a half weeks
paul_ownz
I would like to go to Barcelona or Schalke. Although i heard Schalke fans are a bit mad
paul_ownz
nikolaijns i cant wait to post a picture of whoever knocks u out of europe, cant wait!
HuddersfieldYiddo
He did'nt knock you out of Europe though Hicksville, I just happen to think the blokes a f***in star, no what knocked you out of Europe was a combination of blooding a newbie (Gilberto) in the first leg who had'nt played for three months, he duly had a mare and cost you a defeat, then after getting on par and getting on top of the game last night your new tactically 'improved' manager took off arguably your main goal threat and replaced him with a midfielder after which spurts lost all impetus and could have easily f***ed it up in ET. Then what realllllly did'nt help was your useless captain jigsaw Jenas trying to Hollywood his PK in instead of putting his dainty foot through it and Chimbonda forgetting what game he was playing and aiming the ball at the pretty flag instead. THATS what knocked you out of Europe sonny, not another hatstand Grobbelaresque keeper. Post whatever you want by all means - it'll still be preferable to deciphering 5-1s bovine drivel.
nikolaijns
You talk more ***** than Wenger, BITC and Sir Harry combined
HuddersfieldYiddo
Difference between your lot and me is that you wanna post it on OUR page instead of your own, was I there gloating at you permanoobs last night? No. I just stated my annoyance at having to wait an extra 45 minutes for the mighty 'Showgirls'.
nikolaijns
Hah thats your comeback Hicksville?? hahaha what a child! humph dont wanna argue no more na na na not liiistenninng.
nikolaijns
You must've had quite a sore knob this morning then Nikolaijins?
Bran Mak Morn
jeez nob gags Bran flakes? Do you mean cos of showgirls? funnily enough I'd already had my fill of comedy tits but thanks for your concern.
nikolaijns
Yes Showgirls was the perfect remedy to a night of sorrow
HuddersfieldYiddo
That film is so spectacularly wack, that bloke Verhoeven is responsible for some of the biggest wastes of celluloid known to man...Basic Instinct, starship feckin troopers, the list would make Ed Wood blush.
nikolaijns
I have the same bad feeling about the draw too - playing an English team 3 times in about 2 weeks. And Chelsea will get Fernebache or Schalke. If we don't get ManU, they'll have Roma (my personal favourite actually).
Lou the Gunneress
I see the headlines now " Gooners season in Tatters !!!"... knocked out CL by lowly rated Fenerbache.... and Fell appart at crunch time to hand the Manc's the league title.... wait until next season Gooners ??...hahahahah
Teal007
The same way you saw these headlines in the summer - 'Spurs for top 4' !
prits
Joumey to Vital Spuds prits, I swear I'm not lying when I say there is an article entitled, "next year's the year."
Little Dutch
Or maybe it was called next season's the season. Comme ci comme ca.
Little Dutch
In fairness nikolaijns, Verhoeven also made Robocop. That film is a classic. "You have twelve seconds to comply!"
Moorish
Sh;t, I wish my hunch was also this accurate when it comes to game results so I could put money on it! Just why is it Chelsea who gets the easiest one every single time?!
Lou the Gunneress
Well at least the spuds don't have these problems...their season usually never gets started or is in tatters by the end of october....
