Henry Closes Window On Transfer

Henry Closes Window On Transfer

It was only a matter of time before the tired old hacks could no longer be bothered to do what they actually get paid to do, and start fabricating rumours of an 'Henry to Spain' story based on the premise that Arsenal are in 4th place and our kids are playing out of their skins.

There has been suggestions that the idea of the Arsenal board agreeing to let their prize asset move on (for the right price of course) may not be so ludicrous, and that the Frenchman himself may have become 'bored' with the Premiership.

However, with £50 million offers on the table for the last two summers, I doubt very much that after recently signing a new 4 year contract Thierry Henry & Arsenal would want to part company for a figure that is half that massive sum.

Indeed, the day that the Arsenal board has any say in whether or not a play will remain or depart from our great club, will be the day that Arsene Wenger hops on his bike and seeks pastures new.

Fortunately for Arsenal fans, Henry moved quickly to dispel all rumours, saying we know where his heart lies.

Saying simply 'You know my commitment to the club, that is the most important thing. You know where my heart is.'

At least we didn't have to wait till the end of the season again.

Not wanting to put a dampener on things Paul but Henry does have a habit of changing his mind. I remeber going to Highbury last season after reading a big article by Henry saying how he loves the club and will definately be staying, and then a couple of weeks later saying that he needs time to make such an important discision.

Not much that we can do until the end of the season. How can the press survive without sensational stories.

You have to give the geezer a bit of credit. It's not exactly a habit is it? He's "changed his mind" once, and considering a footballers career is a short one, Henry would be doing himself a massive diservice if he didn't even consider going to one of the biggest clubs on the planet. And who knows, when he originally stated that he would stay, the offer from Barca might not have even been made. The difference this time is that we have him tied down to along term contract, the decision would have to be two sided. One thing that would help Henry, would be if we didn't question his motives everytime some *****ty newspaper printed a story saying he was going. Have some faith in the guy.

Well said there Rocky. He's come out and said that he's staying, he's only just signed a 4-year contract. There's nothing more we can say or do. Lazy journalism from some tabloid *****pot. Good to see Thierry more involved in the game on saturday than in the previous couple he's started!!!
05/02/2007 09:49:00
I have plenty of faith in him Rocky. I'm merely highlighting that he had a massive 4 page exclusive in the Sun telling us his reasons for staying at the club he loves before deliberating over a move for 3 months. I love the fella and think he is the best player ever to grace our shores, I love my wife but it doen't mean I believe everything she tells me.

On a seperate issue.....Any chance of doing a new poll to find out everyone opinion on which month St.Tottering's day will appear on this year's calender?? Get it to pop up on the scum newsnow too, they don't seem too happy over there at the moment. Think you could possibly have the distinction of tipping them over the edge.

Certainly is my friend!

hatespur, did you hear the chants of "Are you watching Robinson!" when serial moaner keane made yet another hash of a 1 on 1 with make shift keeper john o'shea yesterday ! Englands Number one, Englands number one!!
05/02/2007 10:20:00
Funny as f*** wasn't it?? Even when duckface went to pull on the keeper's shirt the mancs were singing England's number 1. It must a nightmare to go from being the best English goalkeeper to a laughing stock in such a short space of time. Don't mention 'stock' around Robbo though, he'll think you are referring to food and fight you for it. Fat pr*ck.
