Tommy Gunned

Tomas Rosicky has been ruled out for the rest of Arsenal's season after already missing a large chunk of it.

Rosicky has been out of action since he play in the match against Newcastle over 300 years ago.

Tommy Gunn has only shown us glimpses of his silky skills since arriving from Germany, yet it appears he is made out of wet cardboard.

Rather selfishly I hope he misses the Euro 2008 tournament so he can get himself fixed and be fit and ready for the start of next season.

Tomas who?
Little Dutch
I think he's got a brother called Bobin, or Dobin, or something like that!!!
Shock, horror !
I think he should spend the summer wrapped in cotton wool then maybe, just maybe, we might get one game out of him next season too before he gets injured again
Can we please just sell him.
Reports seem to suggest he will miss euro 2008.

He's a good player, but he gets injured a lot.

I read the story on sky, and he might still be out for 2 weeks, or 3 months ?! The medics dont seem to have a clue. I wonder where the responsibility for this lies - its obvious that Rosicky has a few problems, but the medical team havent covered themselves in glory, in term of diagnosis (esp) and treatment.
Agreed there Prits, Arsene's signings in the last few years seem to be so effin injury prone - they never useta! Oh, and fan of blues, well observed.
I just read something about RVPs injury from the new year, he says, "I felt some pain, but I thought it was nothing so I gave it a go.2 Which resulted in him being injured for two more months. How the hell did the medical staff allow such a kamikaze approach?

Thanks, AFC85Lew.

With RVP, it seems to be accepted that there was a mistake made, both by the player and the medic staff. In the same interview, RVP takes more of the blame, claiming that he was fit to play at the time. That does not reduce the onus on the medic staff. Earlier in the season, Gallas' come back time was not diagnosed properly - he was out for 6 weeks if I remember right, whilst the initial diagnoses was much lesser. I'm not slating the medical staff coz they are obvious quality, but certain questions need to be asked about them as well.
time to let him go, maybe RVP too, neither of them can get through a season without missing 20+ games
The policy of getting shot of perfectly healthy older players to make way for young up and coming payers seems fine, until you realise that the older players who have been basically booted out were able to offer substantially more playing time. For example Pires is still playing very well and helping Villa Real challenge for the La Liga. During this time two of our younger new recruits, one of which is a Pires replacement, have been out for most of the season. Unlucky yes but if Wenger truly believed he had quality cover then he would use it, instead he has resorted to playing first team regulars out of position rather than replace like for like. Wenger is as close to a God as you can get, but he is unfortunately a mortal capable of mistakes, not investing in quality wingers was/is a mistake. We have so many central midfielders that a player like Diarra wanted to leave to try his luck elsewhere, and yet we have absolutely no wingers or players who are comfortable on the wing. When you look at how Arsenal used to score goals and who used to score them, then this is a problem and one which Wenger must admit could have been avoided.

Tommy on his way out? Great player, I think he'd be suited to a team where the game is played at a slower pace. Rosicky and Van Persie were the two players I had marked to carry us this season, both have let me down :(
tommy gun??? wtf is that?? its a ***** poor nickname for a ***** poor player!! and i didnt realise pires was still playing, has he not taken up the post of diving coach to the french olympic diving team??
Such a shame.. i'm devastated.. great player, very proffessionaly, seems a nice guy, like him a lot... I hate the whole injury buisness altogether. such a shame.. The world of footbal is missing out by having tommy and RVP permanently injured.
A tommy Gun is a Thompsons Sub Machine gun. Being named Thomas, Being a Gunner and having a hard shot. Was not that hard to understand. What does Springy mean? You have a good jump, You bounce of the walls, your flexible?
how many games has he played this season? does anyone know if he had these kind of problems at dortmund or sparta?
"Rosicky and Van Persie were the two players I had marked to carry us this season, both have let me down" Sadly mate I don't think we can rely on either of these boys. They are both made of glass and we can all cross our fingers and hope next season will be different but odds on it won't be. RVP has been constantly injured for so long you almost forget that he used to be a really good footballer.
Throw him away to Inter, Real, Barca or even Celtic... Heck, sell him whatever the fecking price, and find a real person to don the No.7 shirt. Rosicky is a disgrace to the shirt!!!
lol you idiot stukazufuss, yeah hes a disgrace because he has injury problems, some supporter you are eh.
Until about halfway through last season, I can't remember RVP having such a lenghty spell of injuries. The same can be said for Rosicky. Until we signed him I don't remember seeing or reading anything about him having a string of injuries keeping him out for so long. I believe given time and patience (which alot may have already been used up on this season) these 2 players can have a huge impact on the club's onfield fortunes. To label Rosicky a disgrace is quite harsh. I don't know which team you've been watching, but in a vast majority of the games I've seen him play for Arsenal he's made a big difference. He's been injured for half the season, maybe more now, and yet he's still our 2nd highest scoring midfielder behind Cesc, with several assists to boot. Not bad for a 'digrace' eh?
wtf stukazufuss???
Dunno whats up with rosicky. bet hes fit for the euros, then yup, injured for us yet again.
Rossicky's Apperance stats dont read brilliantly at dortmund. In a 34 game season his stats read. Played 24, 30, 19, 26, 27 between 2002-2006. I dont know how many of these were due to injuries or not being picked. If we assume he was a first XI then he misses on average 8-9 games a season, or 25 percent.
Also his injuries since arriving read as follows 2008 February 1st: Hamstring Injury 2007 November 7th: Groin Strain 2007 September 20th: Hamstring Injury 2007 July 30th: Hamstring Injury 2007 April 30th: Hamstring Injury 2007 March 1st: Groin Strain 2006 November 10th: Hamstring Injury 2006 August 18th: Groin Strain 2006 May 31st: Thigh Muscle Strain
Depressing. Why are our best players (and Diaby) always injured? If we ship him out now (back to a league with winter break), would he do a Bobby Pires and become sensational again?!
Lou the Gunneress
He probably would, the premiership is a genral rough league. Getting knocked around on a weekly basis you're likely to pick up injuries especially since the team is moderately young. Some of it is genetic though it's a shame really.
Get screwed hazzagooner, if I'm a goddamn glory hunter then why would I be here? Some supporter??? I got insulted, screwed upon and abused after Arsenal lost to Fulham, Bolton and Sheff Utd last season for over a month, and yet I kept my faith and kept supporting this team. If you think that rosicky is really that good then you must have loved Francis Jeffers. Both are injury-prone. So if you think if I'm a "medicore supporter" then retrace your steps to see if you've been insulted and abused for over a month, NUMBSKULL!!!
I know he's made a difference gunnerdownunder, but if he plays a game for every 4 which he misses through injury then that isn't a very figure for a professional footballer, let alone a top class prem midfielder. As you have seen from paul's stats he missed 25 percent of the matches while at Dortmund in the not so rough and tough Bundesliga. That is really not a healthy number. His injury list is sooo long that I think Gilberto or even Kolo had a shorter one than him even though they've been here for 6 years, 3 times that of Rosicky...
