Villa Dreams Of Arsenal Move

Villa Dreams Of Arsenal Move

Much sought after striker David Villa has hinted that an offer for the player could see the Spanish frontman head for Ashburton Grove.

Arsenal's free-flowing football has caught the imaginations of thousands, and despite failing to bring any end product this season, many top players would remove a testicle to be able to wear the red and white.

Villa, who's current club are languishing in midtable, will probably look for a move away from the Mestalla, claiming he's hungry to test himself in England.

'I watch the Premier League a lot and the team I'm most attracted to is definitely Arsenal,' he told The Sun.

'Their brilliant one and two-touch football and the whole style of rapid counter-attack which dominates the top level of the Premier League now is the one which suits my game best of all.

'I think I'm made to succeed in England but of course it's one thing saying it and quite another getting there and then doing it.

'The Valencia president (Agustin Morera) always told me he wouldn't sell me until summer 2008. If an offer comes in I'm hungry to test myself in England.'

So Arsene ..... get that wallet open!!

Chelsea are not even 2nd choice. he said he would rather go to Liverpool with his mate Fernando Torres. They apparently really like each other, and play reallly well together.Poor chelsea, even the millions don't do everything for you..... If Villa comes, Adebayor-Villa could be good up front, with Van Persie if fit, Walcott or Bendtner back-up. Also i would prefer Adebayor on the bench, he scores but he needs 550 occasions before to put one in the opposite nets.... Don't let Liverpool buy him, cos Torres-Villa in front of Gerrard could be a terrific combination......

Clean the cobweb on your club's cheque book OR choose to clean the cobweb in your club's trophy display cabinet .... Up to AW to decide.

2 things: 1. weren't the spuddies interested in him (lol)? 2. apart from The Sun, there is no reliable spanish online media that have published this. I think it's silly season time again.

G4L - I know that these rags are despicable pieces of tat, but surely even they wouldn't go as far as to invent quotes like these? Would they?
16/04/2008 12:53:00
nah they are real quotes and it would be a dream and in some cases perfect signing but come on Villa to Arsenal....not gonna happen.
16/04/2008 12:55:00
Free-flowing & exciting football + No trophy = Zero achievement. AW will spend.

I've been saying lately that we don't need another striker, but would someone like him change my mind. I'd love to see him in the Red and White, but you've got to remember, Wenger won't play anymore than 2 up front, which means, if he does come, on of Adebayor/van Persie will be on the bench, and if they're there for too long they might consider moving on, because personally, I think they could both walk into the squad of any team on the planet. Then the likes of Walcott, Bendtner and Vela will be further down the pecking order. As brilliant as Villa is, is he worth 20 odd million plus the sacrifice of one of our promising youngsters. No, I don't think so.

I would allow Bednter to leave if we got him. Van Perie, Villa, Adebayor & Walcott with Eduardo coming back in december would be a good attack. But the chances of Arsenal spending over 20 Million are as likely as SHANNON Matthews mother being innocent.

super-gooner. Adebayor wouldn't even be on the bench at Manchester, even not at Chelsea. I don't see Barcelone put Messi or Eto'o on the bench. real put Van Nistelrooy or Raul. Adebayor is good, but not a World class striker at all. He needs 550 chances to score. Van Pesrie can play winger, or behind the stricker, so it is not a similar case.

SG , love your faith in our lads but RVP is injury prone, we dont know what Dudu will be when he recovers. I feel we missed Anelka in the Summer sales and that I feel could have been the differance this year. I not sure if I would go for Villa , Huntelaar or Benzima, but we need another striker. Vela and Walcott will play wide, RVP can play behind the striker which leaves Nic and Ade. I think NIc will be a better player than Ade, so I wouldnt sell him however AW will probably buy some fellow playing in some obscure league that one one has heard of for 2 mill and be done.
