Wenger To Bring Carlos Vela Home

Arsene Wenger has laid out his plans to bring Carlos Vela home to North London to feature in the first team next season.

It seems like a very long time ago that Arsenal signed the U17's world cup star, and after a long wait we may finally get to see him wear the red and white of Arsenal.

'We have applied for a work permit for him now,' said Wenger. 'And he will be involved with the first-team next season.

'He has played the whole season at Osasuna on the left wing and he had to work hard there. But for me it is not his position he is a central striker, an Eduardo type.'

I've seen a bit of him..he seems to be a hard worker. Can't say much of his quality tho..we'll wait and see i guess.

been lookin forward to seeing this kid in action for a while!

Even though the boss sees Vela as a striker eventually, he might continue the boy´s education by playing him out wide, ala Theo. Imagine him and Clichy on the left, Theo and Sagna on the right, so much pace and energy on the flanks!

If Arsene continues to speed up the squad and the pace at which we play at.... they will have to start building landing strips in front of goals to give our lads a chance to stop :-)

he is good but not that good...i follow spanish football deeply...he would be a good sub to have..he has potential but is definitely not world class material..held his own in a semi decent osasuna team...but as i said he is not someone i would pin my hopes on..maybe he will do better in a better team like arsenal,,but still you lot need to but 2 wingers!!
essientric
he played left wing for osasuna for most of the campaign..did play as a striker too at times..is pacy..is going to be interesting to see him next season!!

Looking forward to seeing what this young man is made of
Paulsito
Fantastic young player, was awesome at Osasuna.
Paulinho
interesting to hear essientric...i know some of us look at wengers signings religiously (with good reason) he could sign kirsty allen and id still be excited.

i'v been looking at this guy on youtube and he does look a very technical player, most notably his nutmeg against sergio ramos, but there again youtube only show the best clips of players. but remember arsenal fans that "arsene knows!" clichy, toure, eboue, flamini, alumnia, and song are just a few unknown players brought in and look how good theyve played over this season.
