'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Congratulations Utd, You Made It Worthwhile

First of all, let's get the unpleasant bit out of the way, Congratulations to Man Utd on not only being the Champions of Europe, but on an awesome season overall.

Over the whole match you might argue that Chelsea were (unbelievably) the better team for a large majority of the game, but you make you're own luck and Fergie's United came out victorious.

Now for the pleasant part.

Thank you Manchester Untied for giving me the opportunity to laugh like a drain at the 20 minute montage of John 'The Ironman' Terry crying like a baby girl.

Not only will that image stay with me for all time, but I also got to giggle at former Arsenal players, and unsavory characters, Ashley Cole and Nicklas Anelka.

Call me bitter if you like, because it's true, but still ..... comedy gold!!

Yep - congratulations ManU. Is there any point SAF continuing now though? Surely this is as good as it gets for him?
damn i missed the soon as anelka missed the pen i turned the tv off, i wonder if it will get posted on youtube

Fair play to Man U. Terry was always gonna cry, sometimes I think players play up to it when they lose big games. It makes me wonder if they cry to divert the attention away from their short comings. Not all the time, but I do wonder. I find it hilarious that Cashley has won less with Chelsea than he did with Arsenal, after his "it's not about the money, I want to win things' rant. Has anyone seen this?
Anelka represents everything wrong about football, as he stepped up to take the penalty he looked like he didn't know why he was a Chesea player, why he was there, why he was bought for 15 mil and not played...all number of contradictions and confusions was smaked across his face, it was so fitting he missed. I"ve actually discovered a new found repsect for Chelsea this season, as our beloved Arsenal demonstrated an almost unforgivable Spurs style bottling, Chelsea showed strength against all the odds, but unfortunately no team van have Anelka AND Cashley in the same side and be genuinely liked. For football purists Man Utd needed to win.

Im still waiting for the "Terry shames World by missing penalty and crying" like the Gallas story.
Yep, you've got to give it to SAF, as much as I despise the bloke, the record tells no lies. But above all, you've got to laugh at John Terry.

nice gesture guys - though i cant help feeling this articel was born more out of a mutual hate for chelsea. but all the same a good gesture - and your right about terry, they acted like he was the only chelsea player to lose. i feel sorry for essien and cech, the only two players in their team that i can say i DONT hate. look forward to next season guys!
It's like the 2006 final though. All they showed at the end was Henry shaking hands with the Barcelona players. They didn't show the devestation of the rest of the squad and the fans. I suppose at least we know how Chelsea feel, so we can have a pop.... just as they did.
I really don't care about Anelka and Cole, i believe Chelsea were the better side and deserved to win. Can we let them go for their treason now, its not worth the thought we give it.
A penalty shoot out does not define a winner, just like our crap victory over Man U in the FA. Yes it goes down as a victory but in my heart of hearts, its just doesnt make it. just me though!
Well done United - glad their spirited play won out... Anyone else notice how TV commentators were talking about Fergie's 'kids'? How the hell did the Manc PR machine get them to buy that one! Hopefully we can be the first London club to the win the CL trophy next year!
Congrats ManU! Thanks for providing so much entertainment - almost like an entire season condensed in one single match really, sporting and otherwise. I actually wanted ManU to win it just that little bit more than Chelsea. Roll on next year!

And am I the only one who thought "if only it were us" when I saw the red and white ribbons around the big cup, then gold colour ribbons (all our colours too really) flying around the big stage? I'm still so jealous. If anyone could be the first manager to bring the CL trophy to London, it's Arsene I really think.

First half Man U bossed it. Should've been 3-0 up before Chelsea got a bit lucky with the equaliser. Second half all Chelsea. Extra time honours pretty even, Lumps and Giggs both should've scored. Penalties are a lottery. Worth Man Utd winning for the sight of Terry blubbing like a woman and Ashley adding to his collection of runners up medals.
how can people say chelsea where the better side? they played well for 45 minutes! the second half and got back into the game ...but man utd played well for 75 minutes! they deserved the win !
So the world had to witness a typical PL brawl, wonder how much that did for world opinion on the English game. Nice to see U4L come on here and post something without winding us up, thanks. Well we can't argue they didn't deserve it. Certainly guys like Giggs and Scholes are deserving. But I have to say that Cronaldo is one of the most self-absorbed players I've ever watched. He's Cronaldo FC basically. Even at the end, when all his teammates went to celebrate with VDS, he lies down dramatically on the ground in tears, knowing the cameras will catch it. Loved how Tevez finally had it with Chelsea's throw-in tactics, good for him.
jaelle he was led on the ground because he missed the penalty, he was probably relieved and I can somewhat understand why he has a lot expected of him and he missed that miss could have lost them the finals and he would then be seen as a failure.
bet that result made you lot happy
Congratulations ManU, though they were a bit lucky. Chelsea played the better football, after 30 mins of the game.
sour grapes u arse fan ur jus totally 100% jealous .....he cried in eurpean final missin a peno an u call him that, what wud u call captain gallas for cryin after brum match theres a big difference
(((((((((((((only club in london to win silverware this season)))))))))))
Just remember it was Pompey that beat Manure at OT & stop them winning the the treble.
Yeah respect for Pompey - true cup winners
Lou the Gunneress
ARSENAL FANS ARE DUMB..period..comparing gallas to lot suck!!but not all of you..saw the match with a group of sporting arsenal fans..patting me on my back after the match..maybe you can learn you twits!!
Completely disagree with the article and the other Gunners here. I hate Man U way more than chelsea. At least Avram Grant is a gentleman; Ferguson is the most ignorant man in sport. Once again we watched Manure ride their luck in a game and a a set of match officials in their pocket again. And lo and behold, yet more Man U players come through a match unscathed when they should have been red carded. I much preferred the sight of the overrrated, ball-kissing, show-pony, Ronaldo missing another penaly than poor John Terry hitting the post. Bad luck Chelsea, you deserved to win on the night but ultimately you've been done up like a kipper by the pro-United officials, just like we were in the League after we took a 5 point lead and the FA were scared we were going to take the Prem Trophy off their precious Reds. It's about time this match fixing was looked into. I can't remember ever seeing Manure win a match fair and square.
julie, liked your post very much. I agree entirely about the ridiculous way the ref let MU get away with so much while being so hard on Chelsea.
Do you really believe that the referee let MU get away with more than Chelsea? I thought he was pretty even handed, and very poor all round. If this is the standard of refereeing during the Euros I may just spend more time in the garden as games will be spoilt.
