Tomas Rosicknote

Surprise surprise. Well, why wait til the start of the season to rule yourself out of games, when you can get in there early, during the close season.

Thats what Tomas Rosicky has done. Speaking after the Czechs' defeat to Turkey, he said

It will be yet a long time before I return, but at the start of the new season - some time in August - I will hopefully start with training.

You know those Adidas adverts with Anelka sporting the bionic robo-legs? Can we not put in an order for a pair of them, for Tommy, the poor lad?

Aaron Ramsey, it looks like it's in your hands to make the left wing berth your own...

How things change! Less than a week ago Colin Lewin was claiming in his parting interview that they expected Rosicky to be 'flying' by pre-season. Flying where I wonder?

anyway, isn't it high time that AW considers getting another more experienced wide midfielder or are we to endure some more of Diaby on the left? With all due respect to Ramsey, he is no where near what we need on the left atm. Walcott and Vela can be options but having them as first choice isn't quite encouraging. Perhaps Nasri can play there, Gibbs and Traore, too... but...

This is rubbish ! Gary Lewin claimed he would be flying in pre-season. I'm tired of this. If he is fit, then good for our plans next season, but Wenger needs to plan for life without Rosicky & RVP next season.

Give him a break (no pun intended!!) He's not getting injured on purpose. If it takes an extra week or two for him to get fully fit, so be it!! He's worth waiting for.

oh well, you get one back, and you loose one, that's what the prem is all about. We've been without our best defender for almost a season, and we had to cope.

well atleast whenever he comes back, he will be 100%. i dun want him to rush himself and then get injured again. i'll rather wait till he is fully fit, than rush him back only to see him get injured again. Tomas is a smashing player, and even if he comes back in October and manages to stay fit for atleast 6 months till the end of the season, he will be a big big player for us..

But then, why the hell does Lewin have to say he will back before pre-season ? FFS, cant someone just tell us the truth upfront ? This debate is not about his quality (no arguments there), but for once, cant the whole medical team just agree on something ? Why do the player and medic team have differing versions ? And who is right ?

I know this is going to be an unpopular post but maybe a change of medical staff will be a good thing. Gary Lewin has been a remarkable servant to the club and has saved many a career (Eduardo has him to thank for savling his foot, nevermind his career!). He is on top of his game, and I wish him all the best in his move. I am also aware that every team gets injuries, but the past two season in particular we have been ravaged with injuries. Eduardoand Diaby's aside, the bulk of these have been little niggles that seemed (to me anyway) to take longer than they should to heal. Maybe a new Physio with new ideas might bring a change of treatment..and luck!!!

I agree with prits, either the club have got to stop lying about players injuries (what the hell lying about it would achieve when the inevitable disappointment comes) and manage information better. Or the medical staff requires a drastic overhaul because this has now become pathetic.

a well healed rosicky can guarantee us 3-4 goals in 6-8 games which is pretty decent, in the meantime, we hv walcott, vela, traore, possibly helb/nasri.. so while havin rosciky is added advantage, i think we hv enough quality to last the 1st 3 months without him

Why am I not surprised... he's just like Valeron, good if he starts, could change games and his ratio of games to time on the medical table is 1:20, same here. So let's just get Nasri and forget we have a No.7 shirt at all.

Arsenal will do fine as they did for majority of last season without Rosicky, although his movement and eye for goal is sometime sorely missed
