'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Wham, Bam, Welcome Sam?

Reports are emerging tonight that the player dubbed 'the new Zidane' (no pressure, then...), Samir Nasri, has agreed a four year contract with The Arsenal.

The story runs on the BBC website.

There are, admittedly, no concrete facts to back it up, but the story has been running so long now, that it appears there could be good reason to give credence to the reports.

With the Nasri rumours having been going for a while, it will come as a welcome relief if this deal is tied up, so that many Arsenal fans can get on to the next 'signing' and begin clamouring for the signature of David Villa, to replace Adebayor, whose left leg and right arm will be going to Barcelona, whereas his torso, right leg and head will head for AC Milan, whilst his left arm will remain on loan to Arsenal for the forthcoming season, in what is one of the most complex transfer deals in the history of football.

If the reports are to prove true, let us all welcome Samir Nasri to the Arsenal family, and look forward to him having a prosperous and successful career with us.

If this is going to happen then the sooner they get it done the better. As you say. no hard facts yet, but not too many rushing to deny the whispers either.

No Amos, and I just hope it gets confirmed asap, so we can put this one to bed. By the way, welcome on board, buddy!

McArsenal, I think Kevin's referring to the quotes from Zidane (the old zidane), who when asked about the spuddies, admitted he'd never heard of them.

I figured a while back that Arsene was smart enough to agree terms and a price with the club before the Euro's so if Nasri went on to score 11 goals and single handedly win France the cup there would be no value increase just specific details to be sorted with the player himself. Ribery is his best mate and he said it was a done deal a while ago so I believed that also. Even if this isnt completely true i'd bank on it being confirmed by arsenal.com soon enough.

OK as long as we get this one confirmed on arsenal.com, we can update the poll (although it's funny), yes? How about adding these options: Samir Nasri, "the new Zidane", Nasri who doesn't like to be called the new Zidane, Sam, that kid from Marseille, another French rabbit Arsene pulls out from his hat, the latest "CM who can play out wide", etc.?

Earlier on in the summer Wenger said that he wanted to sign 2 quality players. This was before the departure of Falmini and (soon) Hleb. These two players, who were first team players obviously need replacing. So my question is this... After the signing of Nasri, will we sign one more player or three?

"The new Zidane"... How many is that France have now? It seems any young French player that can peform a step over is labelled as this.
