Arsenal Set For 2nd Summer Signing

Arsenal Set For 2nd Summer Signing

Arsenal look set to sign Bremen midfielder Amaury Bischoff after the player revealed he couldn't turn down the opportunity to join the Gunners.

After turning his back on a new contract offer, Bischoff said, 'Bremen was superb, but Arsenal is a huge opportunity for me,'

'Wenger has known me since my time at Strasbourg and believes in my quality. He trusts me to be in the first team.'

'Wenger has not put me under any pressure. He said, 'Take all the time you need'.'

I won't pretend to know anything at all about this player, so any posts shedding some light in the comments section would be greatly appreciated.

There isn't a great deal about him except that he was crocked and missed most of last season!

He came to Werder via the Strasbourg academy so he should have been very well known to Wenger.

According to Young Guns, he's like a box-to-box midfielder, hard-working, versatile, can both attack and defend, like a younger Flamster it seems. But the injury thing...

The Werder website hasn't put up the English version of the news yet, so Babelfish again: http://babelfish.yahoo.com/translate_url?doit=done&tt=url&intl=1&fr=bf-home&trurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.werder.de%2Faktuelles%2Fnews%2Fmeldung.php%3Fid%3D13449&lp=de_en&btnTrUrl=Translate

He seems like a Wenger type player (good vision, athletic), but the injury proneness does worry me. We seem to have a few already. He'll get his chance in the Carling Cup!

I know German, and that article on the werder website only confirms that he will leave Bremen, but that according to "media reports" he's coming to Arsenal. Not really confirmed in my book...
