Titi & Paddy Told Nasri To Be A Gooner

Arsenal new boy, Samir Nasri has revealed Gunners legends Thierry Henry and Patrick Vieira help him to arrive at the decision to join Arsenal.

The Nasri transfer has been a loooooooong story and now the deal is done, interviews are coming thick and fast. In his first interview with the Arsenal official site, Samir revealed Henry, Vieira, Wenger and the French connection convinced him North London was the right place to be.

'I know Thierry Henry and Patrick Vieira very well and they have told me a lot of good things about Arsenal Football Club. They both had amazing times at this Club and, even talking to them now, they are still very enthusiastic about Arsenal. Both Thierry and Patrick have given me a lot of advice and they both told me that it was the best choice for me to come to Arsenal.'

Ah - the old boy network eh! Works every time.
We can finally change the poll - let's choose between that kid from Cardiff and the other kid from Marseille, or if you count the other case of "FINALLYYYY", we can include that Mexican kid coming home from Spain as well. ;)
Lou the Gunneress
Yer can't win anything with kids !!.....(who said that lol ?)
Thanks Rocky, I've voted for Samir mainly bcos it looks like he'll get more games than the other two kids. And looking at that interview, it sounds like Samir's an Arsenal fan. If he felt that strongly about us coming so close last season, he should be all fired up and motivated to win things for the club this year.
Lou the Gunneress
I've voted for Vela. In terms of games, I'm sure Nasri will get more but I have a good feeling about Vela.
i went for Ramsey just incase he followed this website and say a 0% next to his name and got downhearted
Good to hear that Paddy and TH still talk fondly of us. No reason why they shouldn't but so many seem to forget the good times once they move on.
I find it's very rare anyone leaves Arsenal and has a bad word to say. Even Anelka had some kind words a month or two ago.
Im glad this is finally done. Plus we finally get to change that poll! :)
lol Paul so what if he came to this website and also saw your comment? :D But seriously, I'm also confident that Ramsey will do well - the boy has what it takes to succeed, both in terms of talent and motivation. Although he's the youngest signing, I think he'll grab his chances when Arsene plays him in the domestic cups and the odd league games.
Lou the Gunneress
i somehow feel Vela will be the biggest hit among all the new boys. if anyone of yu who saw him play in La Liga last season, you'd know the lad is pure class..
and btw just off topic, how the ***** did Bobby Pires come as no. 6 in our greatest players list. he deserves to be in the top 5 and in my opinion, in the top 3..
and out of the remaining top five, i'm wondering who will be the fifth, because Bergkamp, Henry, Wright & Adams all pick themselves. any answers here anyone, cuz i can't really wait for next week..
Luckys don't get me started on the GGP thingy..! I was absolutely disgusted to see Cashley anywhere near that list! Not to mention at #25, above the likes of Frank McLintock, Nigel Winterburn, Bob Wilson, George Graham, etc etc etc!! I want to know what idiots voted for the b*st**d!! And to answer your question, there's a missing great Gunner - coincidentally also mentioned in this article - called Patrick Vieira! ;)
Lou the Gunneress
I told him to join..thats the main reason.
OH ***** LOU, i deserve to be hanged. how could i forget Paddy, damn, i'm feeling so ashamed right now. wt an idiot..
Yep shame on you!!
Lou the Gunneress
Thought you guys might like to know that we are already one up on the Spuddies even before the season has begun:
Hehe Jaelle the TV guys in Asia didn't have to run polls to choose Arsenal over Spurs when screening EPL matches. It's a no-brainer for them. And even if the Mexicans rate both boys on par with each other, collectively, come on, Arsenal's much better TV entertainment than Spurs! And apparently it was wrong for me to assume that Rafa Marquez was the bigges Mexican football star, cos obviously Barca wasn't in contention. :D
Lou the Gunneress
and ya i couldnt believe how that **** made the list too. i dun think there is a single gooner in this world who doesent hate him, yet they go on and vote for him..
Luckys I think the blame's also on the guys. How could they even contemplate to put Cashley in that shortlist in the first place?!?!? I remember I voted for the "big 5" you mentioned, and Charlie George, Liam Brady, Bob Wilson, George Graham, Frank McLintock, Pat Rice and a few more. All very very deserved and they indeed made the final list. My #1 was Thierry, DB10 a really close second (although they won't know how close they are for me), then #3 Tony Adams (although he's before my time).
Lou the Gunneress
Lou if yu have a poll among the Gooners here or anywhere who have Arsenal in their heart, then Dennis will win it hands down. my #1 is DB10, Titi coming second, and Bobby third..
That whole list of players thing on the official site is just plain damned stupid and worthless, I've been ignoring it completely. The minute I saw Cashley there, I knew I was right to ignore it. If I don't ignore it, I'll go all postal and send them a really angry, nasty e-mail that will put me on some kind of security watch. I was just waiting for the idiots to put Ade up there in the #1 position--in which case, all bets are off and you may never hear from me ever again.
Hey Lou, I too was surprised that Marquez at Barca wasn't even in contention! But these things go in phases. Another interesting piece from one of my favorite blogs: I remember at the start of last year I noticed how the TV networks de-prioritized Arsenal games because they believed the dire predictions about Arsenal moving down midtable.
Yeah Jaelle I seriously wanted to write a complaint email to them! If I had that "howler" mail in Harry Potter, I would have sent it! As my 1-year ATVO subscription expired, I refused to extend it, I was that angry! - Until they put up the first Nasri interview there, I gave in and paid today lol
Lou the Gunneress
guys i don't understand one thing. here over in india, i get literally every Arsenal game live on espn. so back in the uk, why dont you get all Arsenal games live? or is there any option that those who have sky or setanta set top box can watch whatever they want live? cuz it's really a shame that the country in which the game is being played, the fans can't see every game live, and here in Asia, we've been watching every Arsenal game live for the past 6-7 years..
Luckys when I was in HK, we got like 4-5 sport channels for EPL matches. So they screen all games live, sometimes a few games in parallel. They even have a function for you to split your screen into 4 to follow all of them lol. And here, Sky and Setanta just pick and choose which games to screen live. And it *****es me off that they usually pick ManU first. The stupidest thing (for me) is that they split the EPL games between Sky and Setanta. So if you want to follow every single Arsenal games, you have to subscribe to both sport TV packages. They say they don't want a "monopoly", but for us fans that's rip-off x 2! CL is another story, and I hate how ITV1 (free) always goes for ManU games first.
Lou the Gunneress
Totally agree with you there Lou. That's why I call them (Sky), Man Utd TV 2. Maybe ITV are Man Utd TV 3. Still, it gives us reason number 1,000,462 to hate Man Utd I suppose. Nevermind, as bad as it is, at least we get to see Gary Neville often enough to remind ourselves that life could've been a whole lot worse 8-)
Flv, ITV used to own part of MUTV. They sold their stake to MUFC last year. Now 2/3 of MUTV is owned by MUFC and 1/3 by BSkyB. And didn't BSkyB buy a minority stake in ITV in 2006? They're all one big happy family aren't they! And actually the previous Arsenal TV was partly owned by the club and partly by ITV too wasn't it? In the same exercise of selling off their non-core business in which they got rid of the MUTV stake, Stan Kroenke picked up part of Arsenal Broadband which owned the Arsenal content like ATV. ITV used to be close to the "Big 5" including us through David Dein. But now their head of sports broadcast is gone, so is Dein. I'm not sure of the technical details, but that's probably why this is the case now. For us as Arsenal fans and TV viewers: it sucks.
Lou the Gunneress
that really sucks guys, but here we have just two channels ESPN & STAR SPORTS, and from being in HK earlier Lou, you'd know that these two give importance only to the big four teams..
good on ya titi and paddy! french connections live on
Two players who left as legends and left with dignity. A few guys might like to take a look before getting too big for their boots.
Little Dutch
I strongly believe we'll see the best of Nasri in the second part of the season or next season. The premiership is a physical challenge for anyone coming from Ligue 1. He's a very intelligent kid and i can't wait to see the telepathic understanding with Cesc emerge. I think Ramsey will struggle this year but will come through in the end. Having read a lot of gooner blogs, we are expecting too much from Rambo and Vela. Given we lost or are about to lose experienced performers such as Flam, Bert, Hleb and Ade, i see us struggling this coming season. I'm sure Arsene has a plan. Funny to see on skysports that Arshavin's agent is now saying that he loves Arsenal after his dream move to Barca seems not too be working out. Agents are real scum.....
Yeah GF, shameless are they! Speaking of shameless people, now Barca are saying that Deco's been **** these 2 years. I wonder what they have to say about Abidal, Ronaldinho and (sorry!) Thierry. After being ripped off by us a couple of times, they're now saying it's good business selling Deco to CHelsea for like 8m. lol
Lou the Gunneress
I think one of David Seaman or Lee Dixon for the 5th spot.Havent seen the full list but thats what i think.
Seaman is #7 and Lee Dixon is #21. Now it seems the top 5 will be Bergkamp, Henry, Vieira, Adams and Wright.
Lou the Gunneress
Cheers Lou,i hadnt seen the list so was just guessing.
why isnt Steve Bould in the list at all. wtf is with that?
Ah Luckys, right... how come? I'm sure someone made a mistake there, it should have been him instead of Cashley in #25. lol
Lou the Gunneress
the list is total b0ll0cks IMO. cashley should be lower in the list surely. you're telling me in the whole history of arsenal fc, cashley is the 25th best player EVER??? damn, thats hard to swallow. and some of the players below him were absolute legends in the past. another disappointing act by the official site. cant say ive been too impressed by them, im a member of ATVO but sometimes its just too bl00dy boring. get more action here!!! keep it up LD, amos, rocky, wingers, and all u guys who post.
