Henry Thanks Fans As He's Voted 'Greatest Gunner'

Arsenal legend, Thierry Henry has thanked Gooners for voting him as their 'Greatest Ever Gunner'.

Over the summer months Arsenal.com has been conducting polls to find the greatest ever Arsenal player as voted for by the fans.

Thierry Henry, the all-time leading goal scorer at the North London club beat Arsenal greats such as Dennis Bergkamp, Tony Adams and Ian Wright to be crowned our greatest ever player.

The Frenchman was truly honoured to receive such an accolade.

"Thanks to everyone who voted for me, It`s always a true honour when something is voted for by the fans, especially Arsenal fans as they have many great players from their past to choose from.

"As you know, I loved my time at Arsenal and have many fantastic memories from my eight years there. It was an honour to play in the historic red and white of Arsenal especially at Highbury. I`ll always follow the team and what they do. I`ll always be a Gooner in my heart.

"And finally thanks to the fans for their support during my time at the club. They were right behind me and the team in good times and bad."

Thierry Henry has always spoken of Arsenal with true passion and love, and I believe he never truly felt the same for our club once we left The real home of football.

Whilst some may contest that Bergkamp, Wright or Adams could have won this award, few will actually argue with the decision.

Certainly for most of the time he was here he was on a different level to any other player in the premier league. On that basis the choice has to be the right one.

I think Henry is the greatest player I have ever seen in my lifetime. And not only just from Arsenal, from the entire world. How Henry never won world player of the year is beyond me. No other player has excited my footballing sense like Titi has ... it was a priveldge to witness him scoring many goals. A true footballing legend.

ATVO happens to be running a show called Untouchables 1997-2007 right now. To see Thierry at his peak again is amazing.

I long for the day when the King returns. I don't even care in what role it is, I just want him back here where he belongs.

Would've been amazed had it been anyone else (even the Iceman). I saw Henry a couple of months ago in London, thinking back now there's loads I wanted to say to him, top of the list being a simple "thanks for everything". Unfortunately the cheeky scamp in me took over and as we passed I touched my heart with my fist grinned and said "Welcome home bruv!".

A true modern day legend. We even love him at Pompey.

The mark of a true legend is when you get fans from other teams speaking highly of them!! I know he had a great bond with the Pompey & Liverpool fans .... I ca't imagine the Tottenham supporters like hom too much ... lol

I changed my life around 6 times here in the US just to plan special visits to the UK to watch Henry play in person. I am very happy to have done so -- I've seen a lot of exciting players in person over the years but there are 6 who I put above the rest, Henry is one of them (Zidane, Bergkamp, Rivaldo, Beto Carlos and Romario are the others).

i think Bergkamp and Henry both deserve to be number one. but someone has to be one and someone has to come second, but in my eyes both are numero uno. Thierry was the box office of the premiership, and i'm sure he'll be the best player in la liga this season. But my vote went to Bergkamp, simply because he is the player that made leave cricket and follow football, and he is the reason why i'm a gooner. it was Dennis who put us on the map in Europe, and together with Titi, they both took us to new heights. my most favourate players ever, the two of them. but for sentimental reasons, i love Dennis 0.01% more than Titi..
