Arsenal Announce Bischoff Signing

Arsenal Football Club have officially announced the signing of 21 year old Portuguese midfielder, Amaury Bischoff.

The Gunners signed Bischoff, who can play in midfield, centrally or on the right, from Werder Bremen for the usual undisclosed fee.

According to various reports, Bischoff has spent a lengthy amount of time proving his fitness to Arsene Wenger after spending a large portion of last season on the treatment table.

According to the official website, Bishcoff will wear Kolo's old number 28 shirt..

Do we think this is our final signing then? We now have Diaby, Denilson, Cesc, Ramsey, Song and Bischoff in the CM positions don't we?

Nah Wenger said he is looking to bring in an experienced midfielder that is around 25, and that is not Bishcoff.

21 years old already!! He could be the 'experienced' player Arsene was talking about then.

I wouldn't hold my breath GK. You can never believe anything Wenger says when is comes to transfers, he's always throwing up smoke screens .... I'm really past trying to figure out what Wenger actually means, I just let the master do his thing.

As I said on the thread, this could signal the promotion of a player like Diaby, Song or Denilson or even Bischoff himself.

At least he is unlikely to come in for much criticism as it seems that Bashing the Bischoff too often can lead to blindness.

I would be pretty shocked if all we brought in were two very inexperienced players and Samir Nasri, when we let Hleb, Flamoney and Gilberto leave.

Hleb is replaced and he hardly gave us "experience" did he? Gilberto played a miniscule part of our season so he is not a problem to replace. Flamini will be a big gap to fill.

Hleb was 27 played in a CL final, so he did have some experience, compared to 17 yr old Ramsey. Surely we will buy someone else to fill the Flamoney gap, and not just a 21yr old who has made one senior appearance.

Welcome Amaury! And I can see lots of puns using his name in the tabloid headlines already.

Ramsey played in an FA Cup final, so he's not exactly without experience. I think what Tom is saying is that despite being 27 Hleb didn't actually give us much last season.

MrArsenal, I would not be surprised if he did bring in one more, but it would be a typical move by Wenger to suddenly install all his faith in a 'squad player' to make the jump to the 1st team. Remember how we all thought Arsene would sign an experienced CM to replace Edu and Viera, but instead he bought in an unknown called Fabregas.

I would be happy for one of our current players to step into Flamoneys shoes, but out of all the midfielder we have theres no outstanding candidate. Denilson maybe? But has he done enough to warrant a starting place?

I know what you mean, it wouldn't be my immediate choice right now, but AW sees them everyday in training, and perhaps he feels that either Denilson or Diaby (although I think Diaby doesn't deserve it) could step in. Typical bit of rediculous, crazy genius from Arsene.

I quite like Diaby. Last season he was played out of position and it clearly didn't suit him. But think back to the CC final against the chavs, Lampard and co never got near him when he pplayed in the middle. Whether he can protect a back four and break up the play remains to be seen, but as you say Wenger sees them in training every day so who knows!!! Arsene knows!!!

I rate Diaby as a player but not as a partner for Cesc.

ye I agree tom. I just think he'd go on these runs forward too much meaning Cesc would be forced to cover for him, which is, obviously, not what he does best.

Flamini surged forward as well, that was part of why he was so good last season, he provided some energy. So if Diaby does it as well why woud it be wrong? Attack is still the best form of defense.
