What are the odds eh? It's a pretty good draw as twente aren't even that good by the Dutch leagues standards (Solid but unspectacular). Lets hope McLarens record against us continues with Twente.....

Brooksy - Of course the players will have to avoid complacency, I however am not worried in the slightest about any team managed by Steve McClaren.

Could have been worse. The funny thing's that when Twente came out, I was saying to myself "Arsenal please, make it Arsenal." Don't know why I wanted them, more than those minnows lol. We've never faced them before. The travelling Gooners would be happy to go to a new place.

LD, I can't wait to hear what you have to say on the latest Blatter gem: "I have never said that Ronaldo is a slave, but I said slavery with young people. European clubs are trying to get 13, 14 and 15-year-old boys and bring them to the big clubs..."

just for the record, it is a blatant lie (on Sepp). Sometimes I wish I was a journalist.

No worries LD. On SSN they're saying that the Twente stadium is being renovated and we won't play there, venue is TBC.

that's an alright draw, not the easiest, but if we can beat ac milan... they will think that they are capable of an upset, but over two ties we can't lose. I never heard of any of their players, but their manager isn't worth his shoelaces.

Brilliant draw! You let your country down, you let your country down. Just down the road from dam n all....LD it aint that hard to get to.

Flight routes not that good, can fly to Germany, can get a boat and drive, can fly to Dam, but nothing obvious. I just hope the game isn't now played in Eindhoven cos I've been there twice and it's really ******** boring.

A pretty good draw, should be easy for Arsenal. But they did beat Ajax to reach the CL qualifying draw. But again, its McLaren incharge, shouldnt be any real threat to your progress in the competition.

McClaren isn't as bad a coach as people make out. He's not brilliant and he was well out of his depth with the England job. But people really have to process the following information, England are *****. That is not McClaren's fault, he could only work with what he was given.

I think at worst we will draw over there, but I just can't see them getting anywhere close at the Grove. It'll be nice to have some competitive football less than 2 weeks away!

Although there were some better teams in the draw, FC Twente aren't actually that bad a side. Arsenal should definately be beating them, but we shouldn't be taking them lightly, they do have a few good players.

I think that McClaren might actually be worse than people make out. However rubbish England are, he still was not able to add one single thing to the mix - and that's the sign of a very poor manager. Maybe it's not accurate but it appeared that his Boro days were a charmed life that he lived under the protective wing of Steve Gibson. Average at best!

McClaren is average, certainly. But now worse than that. He didn't add anything to England, but as the saying goes, Schumacher would never have won the Grand Prix with a Vauxhall Astra. I think McClaren was not the only one culpable for England's poor qualifying campaign. But there again, it'll be a cold day in hell before anyone dare suggest that someone like St. Stevie Me MBE MOTM might just be a tad over rated without someone like Mascherano doing his work for him.

I'm just relieved we didn't get Atletico Madrid (tho Galarasaray and Dinamo worried me a bit too). Atleti are a terrific team, and in Aguero they have a fantastic Argentinian talent.

I like this draw. Im looking forward to playing a Dutch team. It should be a perfect draw because its not too hard but hard enough to give us a test that will get our team ready for the new season.

Me too Jaelle! Either Atletico or Schalke now, good for us, bad for them or fans in general. THey're both strong attacking teams, would have been nice if they both advanced. Too bad there.

He says on arsenaltv that he never said any of those comments. He was away on holiday and didnt even know what was going on. All that came out in the press was not from him, and his heart has always been with Arsenal. He will sign a new contract etc.

Even if its a case that Barcelona & Ac Milan pulled out from buying him and he has only come out now because he had no other choice but to sign a contract, we might as well forgive and get on with it.

Exactly, Lou! If he didn't say any of those comments then why didn't he immediately come out and say that like Cesc did?

Exactly, why did he hide behind his b@st@rd of an @gent for so many weeks? And in this interview, he said he's GOING TO put pen to paper SOON, he hasn't literally done so as of now. But he couldn't even wait for it to be done to make the announcement, say in a couple of days. This damage control before his first home appearance is pretty obvious! But it also serves as a timely slap in Begiristain's face, which of course is welcomed.
