Last night Arsenal put themselves in prime position to win the Amsterdam tournament with a dazzling second half comeback against host AFC Ajax. Today a totally new Arsenal starting eleven will take on Sevilla, who tied 0-0 against Inter Milan in the early game yesterday. Arsenal are 4 points clear from the second place team Ajax in the tournament standings, so a win is not a necessity but the young players will be looking to continue building on the success the first team started yesterday.
Vital Quotes:
Arsene still has concerns over Arsenal`s midfield. 'We missed Nasri tonight who has a little knock. We missed Diaby and we missed Song who's at the Olympics. I don't know if our midfield tonight was ideal but it's certainly not far from the midfield we'll play on Wednesday night.
'I'm not concerned about that. But I would have been very concerned tonight if we had one or two injuries in midfield. We can't afford that at the moment with Nasri and Diaby out. It's very positive for us that we have no injuries tonight.'
Still looks like we need to add one more body to our midfield.
Sevilla Team News:
Sevilla played a very entertaining 0-0 draw yesterday with Jose Mourinho`s Inter Milan. They probably should have won the game but Inter can thank Julio Cesar for keeping the score blank. They also played their first choice team, so it will likely be their reserve team on show today too.
Player to watch: Arouna Kone
The Ivory Coast international came on as a sub in the second half of the Inter game and looked very impressive with his touch and speed. He will most likely get a chance to start today, so the Arsenal defense will need to be aware of his speed.
Arsenal Team News:
Arsene will make many changes to the team today. I don`t expect anybody who started yesterday to be kept in the lineup. The defense will most likely be made up of Hoyte- Senderos- Djourou-Gibbs. While the midfield will probably contain Wilshere- Ramsey- Randall- Thomas, with Bendtner and Vela leading the attack
Player to watch: Phil Senderos
The Swiss international will be the most experienced player for Arsenal today, so it will be his job to keep the youngsters focused and calm.
Match Prediction:
I`m not feeling too confident about this game because I`m not sure what kind of team Sevilla will put out. If it contains some of their starters I can see us losing 1-2, but if its reserves v. reserves than our young guns could win 1-0 or 2-1.
