Arsenal Clock up Air Miles in CL Draw

Arsenal Clock up Air Miles in CL Draw

In the draw for the Champions League group stages made this afternoon Arsenal have avoided most of the tougher and weaker sides in each of the pots from which our opposition has been drawn.

It has a couple of longer distance journeys which are always tricky encounters - for supporters as well as the team.

Following the draw the group G looks like this:

Arsenal
Porto
Fenerbahce
Dynamo Kyiv

A chance then to clock up or use up some Airmiles for our travelling supporters.

This is the "ideal" draw in a way. We avoided the trickiest teams like Bayern, Fiorentina, Atletico, etc. But it's not the easiest ones (e.g. Chelsea's) that'd make us complacent again. It's a tad tricky to travel far and to face the tough atmosphere (well we'll also find out about that) in Turkey and the Ukraine. That'd put the players just in the right mindset I think.

Talk about Air miles - we are playing in the 4 furthest corners of Europe!! Unlike Spurs eh glenda - who can't even manage the 4 corners of their own stadium.

Good draw for us. The away trip to Fene will be a challenge for the fans. Hope everybody stays safe.

Oh well at least Russia aint on the agenda again!. Could've been far kinder but thankfully we've spent all Summer reinforcing for such an outcome and we now have a large squad ready to......oh no wait...

Haha it's literally true that we're going to the 4 furthest corners of Europe. Did anyone pay attention to the colours of the group balls - or whatever it was - that indicates whether we start the group games at home or away? That 16/17 Sep game will be between 2 away league games to Blackburn and Bolton...

Well Niko, we have had pretty much equal ins and outs this summer. Hleb, Gilberto, Flamini, Senderos, Lehmann and Hoyte going out with Silvestre, Bischoff, Nasri, Ramsey, Vela and Djourou coming in.
