'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Arsenal Edge In Front In Vital Bet With Chelsea

As we descend into another boring international break, it's time to take a look at the Vital Fantasy football scores ... and more importantly, our wager with Vital Chelsea.

For those out of the loop, we here at Vital Arsenal have a little bet going with the unwashed down the bridge. We have each have our own mini league, and come the end of the season we're going to take the top ten points scores from our leagues and combine them for an overall team total. Which ever team wins, the highest points scorer for that team will receive a football shirt of their choice from the opposing manager (OLASAL).

After the first update things couldn't have been closer, with the two clubs neck and neck on points, well fast forward a couple of weeks and not much has changed, though the North London outfit has edged slightly ahead with 1226pts with The Blues only just behind with 1216pts.

Whilst both the Gunners and Chelsea have dropped one place each in the overall standings we are still averaging very healthy scores of an average of 132 and 127 respectively

The top point scorer for VC is a certain 'JT Is God' with an impressive 133pts, however the lead has changed hands at Vital Arsenal with last years winner G4L overtaking our very own Lou The Gunneress.

Gonners, a bit calm tonight on the transfer front. I feel like a pennyless kid watching others opening their xmas presents. Trust Arsene. Winning the hard way is more satisfying than buying success.

yes, it is more satisfying if it comes off. When it comes to february and fabregas & Denilson could be injured and we are forced to play Djourou & song in CM as we watch out dreams go down the drain, then maybe we will think back to the 4 million pound profit we made in the summer.

PO, the 4mil will then make us feel great, especially when i think of Man City blow 30 mil on Robinho. We at Arsenal are making a point for the collective folly that is taking over this league. Forget winning, milk the fans each match and turn a healthy profit for shareholders while developing some nice flats for rich people who want a slice of our beloved Highbury.

Only 10 minutes to go so there is still hope. The player we have been waiting for might be on his way. My fear is that come the end of the season, Cesc leaves us for another club because he's tired of playing beautiful and losing. A player of his talent deserves to be on a winning team. If Cesc leaves the whole AW blueprint is up in smoke.

G-F, Cesc knows his place. That's a world-class footballer who deserves to win, but one that, despite the excelent work he's put in so far, deserves to pay back the club and AW's faith in him. He is extremely proud to be here, and would want to retain good relations with the fans. If he left after this season, having so recently said he will stay for many years more no matter what, he would sever the relations he done so well to build up, and he knows it. I doubt leaving is on his mind.

i must say i am a bit gutted about this transfer window - was watching sky sports news and saw story after story being read out - and us? Nothing. It's now 00:11 and still nothing. I mean our kids tonight in the reserves are good - but what on earth was AW doing there watching them??? Was he really sitting there deciding that they are cabable of helping us win something THIS YEAR? They lost 3-2 to Chelsea, like the first team, they played amazing football at times but ultimately lost. Is that what we've become? A team that doesn't win anything but plays good football? Personally, I'd go back to the 03-40 squad, which probably didn't play as well but won stuff. Honestly, I'm *****ed off.

AR, i understand your point but you may have too much faith in players, agents and the football system as a whole. It must be frustrating for a player of cesc's ability to play well and win nothing. The team can't play without him. That is a big risk.

Kev, you are gutted and you know it. All chelsea fans thought it was a matter of time and money, especially with Robinho saying his heart is at SB. little liar.. How does it feel not to have it your own way anymore? a throw back to 5 years ago. We are the have nots, you are the have-a-little, and Man City the have-lots.

I know you can say this anytime GF and it's a bit of a week statement really but Cesc, Kolo and Gael are different. They may leave eventually but they wouldn't leave in a way that distresses the club.

AR, I'm sure there's more transfers to be announced, but if we don't sign anyone, who partners our 21 year old midfield gem? And what happens if, after 30 straight games without a rest, he needs a rest/get's injured, then what? Diaby and Denilson? Diaby and Eboue? Denilson and Eboue? Or Diaby and Song? Honestly, what on earth are we playing at???

I honestly hope something appears tommorow morning, some late transfer. Last year we got Diarra, Eduardo & Sagna 7 made a 10 mil profit. This year we have just got Nasri with a 4 million profit. Im sure we could of spent at least 12 million on a Midfielder. Alonso for around 14 would of been good

Michael, why not Nasri and Denilson/Diaby/Song, with Rosicky left (if he's not injured). If he is then Diaby can play there. I know it may not sound that thrilling but when you think about it this set of players can beat anyone.

yes, but chelsea own ballack, essien, mikel, lampard, malouda, and deco - we have cesc. He can't do it all by himself and the rest of our CM's simply aren't good enough (Diaby, eboue, song, denilson, Bischoff). Not one would get into that Chelsea squad THIS YEAR..

trust in Wenger, that's all we have to do. He unearthed Vieira, Henry and Pires. He can do it again. He sees the boys in training all day. He must have a few aces up his sleeve otherwise he would have bought.

We are so boned. Let's be honest with ourselves, Eboue is painfully close to being a first choice central midfielder, Walcott is a first choice right winger who does not know how to play away games, the Boss has admitted Song can't play there long term. We are now at a stage where not only is our squad not good enough, but neither is our first eleven. Fulham will be no one off, we didn't lose that game because of internationals or qualifiers or any of that *****, it's because we had no power in midfield. If that crap was true then isn't that admitting our squad isn't big enough? Ask yourself these two questions i) what happens if Cescgets injured, which is likely considering he has had no pre season and is being treated like a robot and ii) would Gilberto get in our first team? Our three big problems last year, squad not big enough. So we've made it smaller. Squad not experienced enough. So we've made it less experienced. Can't cope with high balls at the back. So we sell Gilberto and Senderos, the only players capable of challenging aerially. This will be a long, long season.
