'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Twenty Big Ones

1. When Arsene Wenger made an, albeit retracted, comment about Martin Taylor in the wake of the Eduardo tackle, he was heavily criticised by many including Liverpool loving Alan Hansen. So how does Mr. Hansen respond to lovable Scally Jamie Carragher`s comments in his autobiography that he was considering asking his mates to attack Lucas Neill after a challenge from the Australian defender resulted in a broken leg for Carragher?

2. Are Newcastle United and Manchester City actually competing for Britain`s biggest soap opera club?

3. How long until Mark Hughes gets sacked and Robinho cries?

4. Will Mike Ashley sit amongst the supporters with the 'King Kev` shirt on again?

5. If I take a pint into my seat for the Sheffield United game, can I expect to be treated as leniently as Mr. Ashley?

6. Did Kevin Keegan ever consider that the current transfer system at Newcastle is in place largely due to his irresponsible spending in the 90s?

7. Given that Kevin Keegan only last week asked the nation to feel sympathy for Joey Barton less than a week ago, does anyone else not feel particularly sorry for Keegan now?

8. That said, surely a club that mistreats a generally quite decent bloke like Keegan the way they have, yet retains Denis Wise and Joey Barton deserves the scorn of the whole country?

9. Real Madrid President Roman Calderon has this week complained about Chelsea`s unethical pursuit of Robinho. Has he pipped Sepp Blatter as the most despicable **** in football?

10. Alex Ferguson complained bitterly about Real Madrid`s pursuit of Ronaldo, yet allegedly bundled Berbatov into the back of a cab at Manchester Airport. Has he pipped Calderon as the most hypocritical **** in football?

11. Tottenham Hotpsur complained bitterly about Liverpool and United`s pursuits of Keane and Berbatov (despite their pursuit of Juande Ramos), yet have accepted pay offs for their silence from both clubs. Does this make them the most hypocritical ****s in football?

12. Following Manchester City`s takeover this week, am I the only one that thinks football has pretty much ceased to be a sport?

13. Has Arsene Wenger ever faced a bigger challenge than the one he currently faces?

14. Anyone seen any Robinho Chelsea shirts on e bay?

15. Can Derby County do the unthinkable and invert Arsenal`s record by going 49 league matches without a win?

16. Is the Big Four really coming to an end?

17. Didn`t we hear that from Upton Park two years ago?

18. Can you guess how many English journalists attended the recent U-19s World Cup?

19. Barton smashes team mates face up, six match ban. Vieira spits at Neil Ruddock following persistent anti-French comments, seven match ban. Where is the justice/ consistency/ sanity at the Football Association?

20. January bid for Lassana Diarra anyone?LD.

The answer to 12 is no - you're definitely not alone in that thought! At least as far as the PL is concerned.

I have a serious question to make. *tension*... If it was offered to arsenal fans, a 4th place finish, right now, would you take it?*tension*...

No, because we can still finish second and if we are lucky we could win the league. Don't be fooled by the idiotic over-reaction by the press and fans.

We are moe than capable of finishing top 4 anyway. Do you think that there are 4 teams better than us?

The purchasing of football clubs has ruined things a bit. When people say the lack of National players in the team is killing football and such they need to look at teams spending 30 million on players, when that happens how exactly will the youth players develop? Barton in my opinion should be banned for life. If a judge gets caught drink driving they would instantly lose their job. If you have many assault records you will not be able to get a job other than your local super market. It's disgraceful that after such crimes he can still kick a ball in the premiership.

HERE'S MY OWN QUESTION: Why did VA and other Arsenal blogs actually describe Barton's tackle on Nasri as "fair"???? Whether or not he got the ball is entirely irrelevant to FIFA's definition of a fair tackle. Barton deliberately and maliciously assaulted Nasri, trying to injure him. He could have seriously injured Nasri and put him out for weeks. He deserved a red card for that assault, in no way shape or form could it be called "fair".

Don't know why they don't just ban the thug. Of course they shouldn't have to ban him, it's a shame few managers have integrity these days as I wouldn't let someone like him play in the team even if it meant losing a title but people want to win at all costs.

Love questions 9, 10 & 11- was thinking the exact same thing. Dont these ****s feel the least bit of shame when cribbing to the media about such blatant hypocrisy ? Levy's was the worst - if he felt so strongly, why the ***** did he allow Spurs to be bribed over the tapping up allegations ? I also read mediawatch for Q1, LD and I'm shocked by Carra's statement. He seems to be glowing in a bit of pride with the 'I called off the boys' statement, like he's some kind of mafioso. ******** idiot !

I also heard it's a 12-game ban for Barton, what a joke! How are Chelsea fans feeling about being outbid for once? And will Liverpool sell out to another bunch of Arabs too?

Lou it's only a 12 game ban if he gets sent of for violent conduct. If he keeps his head down it will just be 6.

lol ok, it WILL be 12 then - judging from the first signs of his on-pitch behaviour after he had been released from jail lol

Barton will not be able to go a few minutes let alone a whole game without attacking someone so it will be 12 game ban. I'm also wondering if now that Keegan gone, if the new Newcastle manager will try and off load Barton. The whole Barton matter has been handled badly by the FA, it has just shown that their are not in touch with the fans as the fact that even Newcastle fans were booing Barton. As for Ashley sitting with the Newcastle fans anytime soon, that will be worth seeing and believe that Ashley is currently hiding out in the USA, probably trying to selling Newcastle to someone, anyone who would offer him a decent amount of money!

You have a point about Kevin keegan's spending in the 1990's and the trannsfer system now in place.
