Wenger: Consistency Is The Key

Arsene Wenger believes consistency and a massive points total will be needed in order to gain Premiership glory this season.

The mighty Gunners came agonisingly close to becoming League Champions last term but just fell away towards the end, however the points amassed would have been enough to win silverware in previous seasons.

"This season you will need a high number of points and you will have to be consistent," said Wenger. "I don`t know how many we`ll need, ask me again in January then we will have a better idea.

Wenger then still showed he has a sense of humour by continuing with, "But you might have a surprising team coming in to challenge like Man City, Tottenham and maybe Portsmouth. It will certainly be very tight and very interesting.

"Last season, I feel we did not get enough credit for what we did. We were very close. We made 83 points in the League and I have won the title with 78 before. But the competition was very high last season and looks like it will be the same this season."

What we need is to be as consistent as the Spuddies. They are extremely consistent at the moment!

Lol - Claws are out this morning!!

I visited vital spuds last nite, theyr fans are now saying what we have known for years............theyr *****e.

I like how these 'pundits' keep saying that we have a brilliant First XI, but not much of a squad to last the whole season, cos I'm confident that the likes of Bendtner, Vela, Song and some kids like Ramsey and Wilshere will spring a surprise or two. My glass is half full there. :)

I visited vital spuds last nite, theyr fans are now saying what we have known for years............theyr *****e. - Armory. But consistent! lol
LondonGooner
I just hopped over there, had a quick look at the article titles only. Whoa, you have to feel for them sometimes..
GoonerLou
I did feel for them GoonerLou, for about half a microsecond or so. but seriosly they are depressed over there and make no mistake if the shoe was on the other foot........................
Armory
Lets face it, It couldn;t happen to a more deserving bunch. The great unwashed masses that follow the spuds are only looking like humngous fools because of the annual "We're on the up!" cries that they keep repeating!
LondonGooner
JUANDE RAMOS has been cut from 4/1 to 9/4 with William Hill to be gone as Spurs' boss before the end of this season. F***ing typical, you've just learned the name of theyr new manager and then they want to sack him!!!!
Armory
I felt bad for the team when I heard some of the spuds supporter being interviewed after the game..they all kept repeating the word "the team is rubbish" in their comment...why are they blaming the team or coach?..its their board for the sale of Berba and Keane and buying the overrated Bent...nway,as I said in my last post that this might be Keane's curse for leaving them bcoz he left Wolves, Coventry and Leeds and they both were relegated as soon as he left..lol
CoastarianGooner
I do my best over there to wind them up ;-)
Tom14
To be honest Tom14, I don;t think it's really necessary, they all seem to be heading for the same cliff edge in a lemming stylee!
LondonGooner
I also like the consistancy Flamini and Hleb's new teams.
afri-gooner
Cliff edge! CLIFF EDGE what cliff edge? Tell me please, just in case they need any help, on a more positive note I heard that the only pharmacutical company to hold it's own on the stock markets these day's is Eli Lilly thanks to spuds supporters.
Armory
and the mighty villa are on a run and will take our place in the champions league...or so some of them seem to believe after they demolished the even mightier spurs....im soooooooo worried...wheres that Cliff
fran merida
Yep, Consistency is the Word, Arsene so right as usual. As for the Spuds well, well the word for them is POOR, and their shoulders must be so sore holding up the rest of the Premership! lol as they would do the same if thing were the other way round.
hackneyval
Spare a thot for the dumb spuds. It could be better next year. They cld be top of the championship! At least another oportunity for a title
gunnerchi
What are the odds on a February/March St Totteringham's day this season?
LondonGooner
If Arsenal are going to win the title then consistency is the key. The trouble is that you have already lost two matches.
