The North West has notoriously seen Arsenal drop points against the likes of Blackburn & Bolton in recent seasons, as they failed to deal with the physical side of the game. But in two successive matches, the Gunners' eased past both teams.

Firstly it was 4-0 at Ewood Park 7 days ago and now 3-1 at the Reebok Stadium as Emmanuel Eboue's first league goal for the club was followed up by a breath taking second from Nicklas Bendtner just 90 seconds later and a third late on from Denilson ensured all 3 points would go back to North London for a second successive week.

It was a result which pleased Arsene Wenger as his team topped the table following Liverpool's slip up at home to Stoke, and the Frenchman says it shows his side have learnt to cope with the physical aspect of the game as they overcame a team which has haunted them in recent seasons.

Flippin' brilliant weekend this- the other three drop more points, we go TOP and the Spuds stay ROCK BOTTOM, 10 points behind us already. That's my kind of sandwich. Nice to see Liverpool brought back down to Earth with a bump too. A good week to come through 3 nasty-looking away games "unscathed" because unlike some, I think the Kiev point was a good one. Well done guys! Long may the media keep ignoring us too, I think it's helping.

Joy indeed. Right at this moment, the Universe is in perfect balance. Even work on a Monday doesn't seem to be so bad
