Wenger: Magic Comes From Teamwork

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger believes team spirit is the key to Arsenal's current form and is also what makes sport beautiful.

Arsene's army currently sit proudly atop of the Premiership table despite losing 'key' players in the summer, Wenger believes in spirit.

'The pleasure for me watching is the same as for you. Collective sport is fantastic if people don't transform it into an individual sport.

'It becomes magic if the team play as a team. I'm not a golf fan, but I like to watch the Ryder Cup.

'There's something more that makes it beautiful to watch, because of the collective unit and collective spirit.

'When a team respect that, they're a joy to watch. This team have learned and improved from last year. We want to fight at the top.

'We want to win the title and the UEFA Champions League. We have the quality, we are hungry, and we have a good spirit.

'What I like about this team is that they have a good attitude and share the same vision and express themselves well. We want to win first of all, but if it's possible we want to win with style.'

Amen.

There was a 20 min spell against Bolton where the football they played was out of this world. What we need to stop now are these mistakes at corners and freekicks, do that and there will be no stopping us.
Armory
its still early days but with each game the team seems to be improving individualy and collectively. eboue, almunia, adebayor, denilson, bendtner, song and theo. are d major surprises
gunnerchi
ade didnt stray offside as much as he used to.

Make that another Amen, Arsene is telling it as it is. We are so luckly that we are Arsenal fans, and get to watch such wonderful football long may it last.

Despite my occasional criticisms, I absolutely do love this man and thank the football gods that they chose us to benefit from his brilliance for so many years. The collective display on Saturday was just extraordinary (and Bolton were better than Blackburn). The man and the players he's trained create art on a football pitch, it's just unbelievable to witness. That said, the CD Gallas-Toure pairing still doesn't convince and I don't understand why Arsene doesn't see this.
jaelle
He probably does see this Jaelle, but also thinks there contribution to the build up play when we attack is far more important than having a 6foot 5 clogger lumping balls up the field and being able to head the ball. I suppose his priorities will always lie in the attacking phase of our play!

Is this what Arsene conjures up by waving his magic wand then? http://www.football365.com/story/0,17033,8652_4183873,00.html
