Bolton v Arsenal - 83 And Counting!

BOLTON WANDERERS v ARSENAL - 83 and counting
Saturday 20 September 2008

As they moved to the top of the Premier League with a fine win at Bolton Wanderers, Emmanuel Eboue scored his first goal in 83 domestic apperances for Arsenal - or did he?

The Ivory Coast defender appeared to have broken his Gunners duck with their equaliser at the Reebok Stadium. However, replays subsequently showed that Manu had strayed offside - by a distance of 66cms, no less!

The Right Result is a 2-1 win to Arsenal.

It's not cheating - how many times have we been wrongly flagged offside because the linesman can't keep up with the speed of play? We've had a run of decisions going against us so I'll take the odd spot of good fortune to balance things out.

Right result is a good idea but holds no water at all. If goals were not given the matches would have a different outlook.

However it's put together Spuds are still propping up the rest of the league.
Amos.
Surely the scousers get 3 pts on Saturday?? As much as I dislike them, I couldn't see anything wrong with Gerrard's goal.
FAB 4
Does that count Davies' foul on Toure for Bolton's goal? Eboue is above the law and the normal rules do not apply to him, laws are for mortals, not apotheoses.
Little Dutch
at least i hope motherluck has decided to cast her gaze on us. we've had our fairshare of bad calls
gunnerchi
Torres was marginally off side for Gerrard's disallowed goal, so that was a good call IMO.

"laws are for mortals, not apotheoses" --- have to remember this one!!
jaelle
Villa 3rd.. i like it u guys =]
Blitz
This is completely wrong - how can you possibly apply any rules to Eboue!?!?! Those are for mere mortals!
GoonerLou
Oops, sorry Jaelle, I said the same thing basically, didn't look at you guys' posts. But you get the idea!

http://www.goal.com/en/Articolo.aspx?ContenutoId=877302 what a really lovely piece. We've been saying this for years and years and now finally the truth has found the light of day. Will the player get protection? Will anything change? Not bloody likely.
alwaysgunner
Oh, Well, the Ref gave the goal so that's that!
hackneyval
Ha! @Rock, they certainly did. They got well and truly Eboue'd
Gunnerman
K_chelski - You got that one right!
