Wenger: Weakness Will Be Punished

Arsene Wenger believes there will be no hiding in the Premiership race if there is a weakness to be found in your squad.

However, despite that, the tables and title challengers seem to be ever changing.

The constant fluctuation has grabbed Arsene's interest. 'One week ago everyone made Chelsea super-favourites, now it is Liverpool,' he said.

'Things change very quickly, which is why it makes it very interesting.'

'We were very close last year and with 83 points, many times you would have been champions.'

'However, Manchester United had a fantastic second half of the season, we dropped a little bit of our quality and that is it - I still feel any weakness will be punished.'

After losing to Hull and then dropping points at Sunderland we seemed to be somewhat off the pace, but despite still being 4 points off top spot I feel our position is much improved after both Chelsea & Man Utd dropped points this weekend. With only the mighty Tigers getting in our way.

I still feel that if anyone comes above Manchester United, they will be champions! Hopefully it'll be us!

WEAKNESS!!! Quite correct Arsene, so why you persist with gallas (and now we can add silvester and song) is beyond comprehension. Djourou and Toure ought to be first choice pairing with the other 3 filling in when required through injury.
bseymour
The best central defensive display for a fair few months (if not all year) and you want Toure (who has been poor for two years) and Djourou to play ahead of them both? Arseblogger reader I presume?
Tom14
The best central def. displays were when Senderos was involved with either gallas or Toure, but the blind and blinkered hounded him out of the club. Both of the displays by silvester have been awful and, other than an average attacking force, gallas hasn't been much better than awful. Everybody reads Arseblogger, don't they? What's your point?
bseymour
Oh shut up. You are clearly anti-Gallas and whatever he does you will not like him. To say that any time Senderos has played we have been better defensivley is just as bad as saying when Djourou played alongside gallas we were better. When in fact we just did not concede. You could argue that point against Silvestre - Gallas but they played well rather than just luckiy not conceding.
Tom14
You obviously saw a different performance from those two clowns than the rest of us saw. Thank God for Almunia. I wasn't anti gallas when he first arrived and for many months after. The only person that has made me change my opinion is gallas himself. He's gone from a quality defender for both his club and his country to become a liability for both. In Arsenal's case, he's the biggest liability in the team. I think that 'not to concede' is the main objective of defenders, a feat that all, past and present except gallas, appear capable of achieving. Now we have silvester the comical cat alongside the other comedian in the team, God help us. Now you shut up.

Hands up, who thinks bseymour is a bit retarded in the brain?
Tom14
Soon be time for bed tom, but make sure you complete your homework first
bseymour
I think you lot need my unbiased opinion about gallas.
k_chelski
Seynour, i believe you have jumped on the anti Gallas bandwagon. Toure has been worst than Gallas this season, but its easy to dislike Gallas. He put on a good solid performance against West Ham, for you to say otherwise suggests you didnt watch the game or dont understand football
paul_ownz
I have mind of my own and know nothing of any so call bandwagon. One good game in twenty is just not good enough for a player in a team aspiring to win trophies. Gallas is getting older and under normal circumstances will lose ability gradually. The fact is any ability gallas had ten months ago has gone so quickly. He's continually caught out of position, marks invisible men at corners and free-kicks and blames every other player for his own deficiencies. You say he played well v WHU, yes there was slight improvement, but he couldn't have got any worse, could he? If you think that was a quality performance then you saw a different game than the one I did. As I said in a previous thread, "Thank God for Almunia". In my opinion, and I'm entitled to have one, gallas is the biggest liability in the team, but silvester, the cartoon cat, is likely to take that distinction from him if he remains in the team. We need a quality CB in January if we aim to win trophies.
